I have a friend who applied RD which I also believe is March notification and they found out today they were accepted.
Oh wow! I thought all RD was notified on the same day. Did you friend have high stats?
Her STATS are 4.2GPA 1280 SAT

I made a mistake! Well, haha I guess she did - apparently she got in prior to EA4 and that’s why she was notified - it was NOT RD. I am very sorry for the incorrect information!

My son was accepted ED2. I didn’t realize housing is not guaranteed for freshman. I just paid the deposit so we are further down on the list. Anyone know how competitive the housing is?
Very competitive. But, the good thing is there are lots of apartments just off campus walking distance to class (they have shuttle busses as well) that are much nicer than the dorms, likely less expensive, and many closer than the dorms are to the classrooms. Auburn is a safe campus and surrounding area.

Very competitive. If he definitely wants to be on campus, his best bet is to find potential rooomates and “link” with them on the housing portal. Hopefully they end up with an earlier room selection day/time and they can place him in a room during their time slot. Being flexible with dorm location helps a lot too, and there are various “communities” you can apply to be a part of that have preferred housing (engineering, OOS etc).
If you go the off campus route, I’d start sooner than later. A lot of the more desirable places are already full for Fall.
Did any other denied students just get another denial in the mail today - exact same wording as the portal letter except with a more recent date from last week vs February?

Yes. I think the colleges send the hard copy of all portal letters to make sure they’re received. Just my guess.
Thanks - it was just odd that the date was different - like I got to have two seperate rejection letters haha…

odd that they changed the date and didnt just print the same portal letter… oh well.
My daughter got one too - and she had sent in an appeal last week, so now it makes it really confusing - is it the first rejection or the appeal rejection?
Same! - I sent two emails asking - no reply… I would be super disappointed if they just resent the same message not even referencing the appeal. Also it is dated before the deadline to get all your supporting documentation in for the appeal and the post mark is even a date before so I really hope they wouldn’t send it like this - seems like they dont review the appeal stuff if so.
I wish your daughter the best and hope her appeal demonstrates her qualifications and they give her a shot! Sending positive vibes!! 
Aww same to you!! Although I have told her she needs to proceed still with her decisions for other schools and not expect anything from this.
