Anyone here taking the August SAT? If so, how’s it going? This will be my first time taking the SAT btw(rising senior), I know why am I just taking it now? Honestly I didn’t manage my time wisely 9-10 grade and also the stress of AP’s, extracurriculars, dual enrollment classes and summer workload was just TOO much. Hoping I get at least a 1540. Studying is all I do everyday TBH. What are your scores(if you’ve already taken the SAT) and how are you studying?
yeah i’m taking it in August. I took it in April through my school and got a 1430 my first time. I was always more focused on the ACT but Illinois public schools switched to SAT this year. And studying…well I didn’t study then…I probably should be studying now…yeah motivation is lacking. Anyway, I’ve been using this online test prep thing through Naviance that my school provides. Its pretty cool, tons of practice questions. You seem really motivated and that you’ll do really well, good luck 
Thanks and my school is the same way too! It’s really annoying because I practiced for the Act My junior year, found out that I preferred it over the SAT just to be told that my school had switched it so the SAT now. But because I was really familiar with the ACT, it has helped me TREMENDOUSLY with the SAT math questions and also the writing part as well. All I’m worried about is the reading because I personally find it harder than the math. Thanks and good luck to the both of us!
Taking it to qualify for national merit finalist (rising senior). Low stress cause I already got a 36 on the act.

Lol the ACT is easier for me actually but I’m sure I’ll do well enough for my purposes.
Got a 1570 and studied only on Khan Academy. For personal reasons I only started studying in the few weeks before my test date, but I would recommend starting a little earlier (maybe 6 weeks prior instead of 3). I really really liked Khan Academy though.
AHHH taking it in August as well and its my last chance as a senior. This will be my 3rd attempt. I got a 1400 on my last test and I am aiming for at least a 1500 (yikes, a 100 point increase)
@ski_racer any advice on the best way to use Kahn? Our S19 took one of the practice tests and got a 730 math 700 English. Trying to get those each up to 750 or so. I don’t know if easier or harder to increase the score once the base scores are fairly high. It will comes down to only getting a few more correct per test. The reading section is his weakest so I’m thinking he should just start plugging away on a bunch of reading questions on Kahn. Any other suggestions?
@homerdog I linked my PSAT scores so I could target my weak points. I also used it on my phone whenever I had a moment, like in a car or waiting room. Other than that, I don’t know. That was what worked for me.

Also taking the SAT in August. I got a 1460 on my first practice test and again on my second. How do I improve? I’m planning on using Khan Academy to practice for the math section. Any tips on the essay?

Rising junior taking it for the first time in August without essay. The August date is very convenient because school will not have started yet so I can devote the weeks leading up to the test date for prep. Also, I an hoping to just get the SAT out of the way early to take some stuff off my plate for junior year.
I’m taking it for the first time next month, best opportunity for me because it will only be three weeks into the school year. Got a 1380 on my first practice test and now a 1460, my reading score is really bad which brings my score down and my essay isn’t the best either.
