I’ve been waiting forever for my class on FLVS. How long does it usually take for you to be accepted into a class? I want to finish it over the summer, but I don’t know when I can actually start this course.

It usually only takes me 3 days. You might want to call.

I called them today and they said that it could take 24-48 hours of the start date, 1-2 weeks after, or even up to 4 weeks. They have no control or knowledge of when I can actually start the class. That’s sad. Is there some person that can tell me where I am on the waitlist?

You mean a psychic?

Maybe so. Has anyone ever had a similar problem?

Are you waiting for AP CS? Because I registered during the latter half of May and I have yet to get into the course…

Two of the classes I am taking (AP Environmental Science and Chemistry 1 Segment 2) started the day before my prefered start date. However, I signed up for Spanish 3 several weeks ago, and my prefered start date was the 10th, and I’m still not placed. I’m considering calling them.

I signed up for PreCalc, APES, and APCS. Neither has come in and I applied in May. I called them twice and no one can seem to give me a solid answer. I wanted to finish PreCalc by the end of the summer and get ahead with the other two before school starts

That’s weird. I wanna do precalc as well for credit recovery. They called me, but my mom told them I wasn’t there, so I might as well inquire when i call them back.

I called them. They said there are a lot of summer requests. Right now I am just waiting on a teacher, but it could take another week or two. And I wanted to get started as soon as possible…

I applied for Pre-Calc last summer (dropped it though) and I had to wait a week before school started to get assigned to a teacher…

What time during the summer did you apply? Or did you apply before summer started?

I think I applied during mid summer. I also applied to AP US History about 3 days ago and it just came up today. I guess it depends on what class you want.

Dang I was hoping to get into my Honors Algebra II course by July and get most of it done by late August :/

Hopefully Algebra II won’t be crowded.

^Chapen, I’m in the Algebra II course right now on FLVS. FLVS has partnered with Blackboard which somehow allows many students to be in one class (I’m not too knowledgeable about Blackboard since it is relatively new). My teacher told me a few days ago that she just received 200 new students in addition to the ones she already had. With Blackboard, theoretically, I think it should be easier for you to be placed in a class.

To the OP, summer is the time when there are an abundance of classroom requests. You have already called them so the best advice I could give to you would be to be patient. Personally, I have never had much problems with being placed in FLVS courses. In fact, I am usually placed a day or two before my preferred start date. Then again, I usually request my courses during the school year or before the “summer rush”.

yay :D

Hopefully the out of state students are placed as the same priority as the In state :O

Thanks for all the opinions!

@sharker: I applied in April and I still haven’t gotten in. School ended two weeks ago, but I guess I’ll have to be patient for now. Anyone else apply for PreCalc, AP CS, or APES and waiting?

I got into AP Environmental, and I want to do Precalc for credit recovery.

Congratulations on getting into APES! I’m still waiting on a classroom, but since you got in, I most likely will get into the classroom in a few days, if not hours. Are you still waiting on PreCalc?

My friend is waiting on Driver’s Ed. Anyone get into that class or is currently waiting?

I didn’t mean i was in precalc, i am going to request it later in the summer
