Awkward situation help?

So I asked my Trig/Calc ABC teacher to write me a letter of rec for my school. I had him for two years and so he really got to know me well, and I was a good student in class. He finished his rec like a week after I asked him to do it, which was awesome.

The problem is, I’ve been trying to think of how to thank him… and in the process, I’ve waited over a month and a week. I’ve talked to him before, but it was only during passing periods so I was unable to really thank him and I wanted it to be more than just a casual ‘oh, by the way, thanks for writing my rec!’

So now it’s been a really long time and it’s just getting increasingly more awkward every day that passes. What do you suggest that I do? How should I thank him?

Just make him a card and write a personal thank you and say something nice about how you really enjoyed having him as a teacher or whatever. Maybe include a $5 or $10 gift card to Starbucks or somewhere else he would like.

write him an email or a letter and put it in his mailbox at school.

get him a candle and a card, with a really long message inside
