They must have been tipped off to that concern. There is no way they went there so quickly in the conversation. They were prepped about Vienna’s issues with other women. The producers had to make sure that theme was continued to the end.

Just wondering. Do you really think that the bachelor had sex in the fantasy suite four days in a row with the last finalists? I can’t imagine a woman (except Vienna) having sex with someone knowing they were doing the same thing on three other nights.

TenthTimeAround - maybe some of the prior bachelors, but I think not Jake. He seems very squeaky in a virginal kind of way. I might be wrong…I have been before.

(shhh, don’t tell anyone, especially my D!)

:)

Can you be “in love” with more than 1 person at a time?

I don’t believe that you can, but I have girlfriends swear that you can love 2 men at the same time.

eddieodessa, don’t you remember that song from the 70’s?

“Torn between two lovers…feeling like a fool. Lovin’ both of you is breakin all the rules…”

Yes, I sure do remember that song.

The Houston Chronicle had an article on last night’s episode that started like this:

“In The Bachelor: One the Wings of Love finale, Denton pilot Jake Pavelka chose a hot, sexy former Hooter’s waitress over a sweet, naive college admissions counselor. Well, of course he did.”

I thought that said it all. ;)

^^^^^ lol!!

Jake seemed to keep referring to the sexual chemistry he has with Vienna. Sexual compatibility is great, but you still have to get along the other 23 hours and 58.5 minutes of each day.

OMG…I had no idea that some of my favoite posters share my dirty little Bachelor secret! So glad I wandered over her and found out.

schmaltz LOL

Just a mom I misread your post to say squeaky in a “vaginal” kind of way. :D

historymom wrote: “I misread your post to say squeaky in a “vaginal” kind of way”

THAT’S a Freudian slip if I ever read one!

A couple of things.

Jake is known as a puddle jumper in the airline community. He does not fly 737’s, his airframe holds 50 people. That means he will not be spending nights away from the house. He will do day trips.

I do agree that Vienna doesn’t seem the type to want to be alone, but I wonder if she was looking forward to some away time. Now she will find that because he has a 6:30 show time at the airport, that it means bedtime by 9:30. Bet that will crimp her style at 23.

2:
As a Mom I do agree that family dynamics are important. Yes, you want your child to be in love, but if your children are close, you also want them to fit in the family and not cause strife.

When I was watching the episode when he was speaking “confessional” style, after seeing his folks (wearing the shirt that he wore when Vienna visited) it looked like he had been crying. My bet is his family had some not so kind things to say to him about Vienna off camera.

3:
Gia’s mom frightened me…she brings at Tarot cards for the home visit

^^Maybe the Tarot cards helped Jake to decide to ask Gia to leave (I think that I missed the episode where she went home). Just like Jake’s family is effected by the person he chooses, Jake might not want to deal with marrying into a family with eccentric behaviors either. Afterall, many feel that one does not just marry the person, one also marries into the family and that can come with lot of baggage. Perhaps one can deal with 30 minutes of Tarot cards for fun, but listening to readings for 30 years +, and perhaps having one’s life controlled in part by the readings, well that is another story!

Oh I forgot to say, that Jake was asked about the bachelor fantasy suite, and if his he is not lying regarding his answer, he did get points from me. He stated he did not have sex with any of them because he felt it would be wrong to sleep with them and then not hand them a rose the next day.

As far as marrying into the family, don’t you think if he felt that way about Gia’s he should have the same emotions regarding Vienna’s. Any parent who believes it is funny to crash 5 cars within 6 yrs, has a very strange sense of humor to me.

Do I remember correctly that Vienna’s father is a preacher? Did you guys see him? Seemed a bit rough around the edges to me! I just don’t get it. Girls like Vienna are a dime a dozen. Why he waited to end up with her I can’t figure out.

Bulletandpima, was it you that said he works for ASA? I know somebody who is a pilot for them, and even though they do fly the small planes into somewhat smaller airports, he still has 3 and 4 day trips that he is away on. So Vienna may get to have some alone time (ha) while he is overnighting in say South Bend. I agree she is going to be in for a shock when she finds out how little he really does make.

Yes, he does work for ASA, I was not aware that ASA pilots do overnights, all of the puddle jumpers I know, are basically flying in and out jaunts. I believe he has been with them quite some time, so I also took into account that seniority as pilots have priviledges. He has never mentioned serving in the military, so that means to me as soon as he got his ratings, he went to the airlines. For example, pilots with SWA as captains have priority in creating their schedules, many live by their hub, thus they spend the day flying back and forth from their hub.

She might be shocked as an ex-hooters waitress that he probably made less than her. That is if she worked at a popular Hooters.

People believe that pilots make tons of money when they enter the airlines. THEY DON’T. Their pay is very little and that is why the majority of them are retired military pilots. They actually make more from retirement pay for the 1st couple of yrs than the airlines. Retirement pay for an O-5 with 20 yrs is @43K a yr. That should tell you how little he is making. I even know puddle jumpers who left the AF before retiring and returned to the AF because they financially could not make it.

Did it say what toen Jake’s parents are from, or state? This makes a difference in regards to the family mtter. Married to a Texan myself, if their family lives in Texas, you do spend lots of time with the extended family. I would suspect this is true after seeing the bros hang out. Also, having lived in Florida, I doubt he will want to hang out in the swamp with the kin folk. Someone said that girls like Vienna are a dime a dozen. If you have ever lived in Texas, not only are the woman beautiful but many of them are extremely intelligent and in some cases daddy’s in oil so you marry into a good family as well.

Finish this joke: “…So Gia’s mother, Tenley’s ex-husband, and the ghost of Ali’s grandmother walk into a bar, and the bartender says…”

^^^Hah! Good one Schmaltz!

My take is that Jake was using his little head to make the decision…
