I’m a junior in high school and I’m a B+ student, always have been. I just received my first marking period report card and I’m failing physics with a 60- I’m so scared this will completely hurt my chances in getting into a good university. My total average for this first marking period is an 89.

My EC’s are pretty good-
- participated in an art program for two years
- volunteering as a teacher’s assistant for Sunday schools
- volunteered at my church for 5 years
- debate club
- science olympiad
- ethnicity club
- worked as an intern for a fashion company this summer
- took 2 online science courses this summer

I’m also taking 2 AP courses, a non-mandatory language class, and my school is a specialized school so I’m also taking art as a major subject.

But I’m extremely worried about this failing grade- I know colleges won’t see it because they only look at the final semester grades so I have time to raise it, but I really want to have at least a 93 by the end of the semester. Is that a good enough reach? How would colleges look at that?? So worried

I’m taking my SAT’s this spring- is 2100 a good enough grade for a college? What’s a good goal grade because I doubt I’ll get a perfect 2400.
I’m also going to take SAT II’s and ACTs- what grade should I target for to get into a sufficient university?

I’m thinking Fordham, CSU (Cal State)- UCLA, Hofstra, Georgetown University, Boston University, Cornell, Stony Brook, George Mason, NYU

Any other college suggestions? Also any advice in general? Help! Thank you so much!
