Wonder if there will be riots, protests and thrashing of personal property…my guess…nope.

Why would there be?
The shooter was immediately arrested and publicly charged with the crime scarcely a day after the murder. The system worked quickly to show justice would be done.
They did. The problem was the alert didn’t get to the relevant precinct until it was too late.
Yes, blue lives do matter! And if anyone believes I advocate lawlessness, or cop-killing, they have entirely miss-read my outrage over cases such as The Freddy Gray killing, the Eric Garner killing, the Tamire Rice shooting, and the Walter Scott shooting. Someone asked me in a post early in this thread if I would “rather have anarchy” when I expressed anger over the way Freddy Gray was treated while in police custody, a question so ludicrous as to be totally unworthy of a response.
Whenever I see news reports of police officers killed in the line of duty, it makes me heart sick, knowing how their sacrifice must affect their loved ones and the communities they serve. I do believe most police officers, regardless of race, act in good faith, and take their responsibilities very seriously (this I’d the 2nd time I have expressed this belief in this thread. I shall not repeat it. I shouldn’t have to repeat it!) However, there is a sizable minority of police offers who seem to believe they are the law unto themselves, and it is often they who abuse the trust we place in law enforcement. Has anyone noticed that there have been no protests or rioting over the Walter Scott case? Why? Because the officer who shoot him five times in the back as he fled was immediately charged with murder after video surfaced that left little room to doubt what happened. Those of us who have witnessed dirty cops get away with maiming and killing persons in their custody are extremely grateful for the advent of cell phone video technology, and more than a bit dismayed by lawmakers who have recently moved to make videoing police encounters illegal.
And for every video documentation of unjustified police action, how many video documentions of justified police action are there that we don’t hear abour?
I don’t know where you live, but here where I do, It is not that unusual to see cases reported on the evening news whereby an officer kills a suspect in the line of duty, usually because they exchanged gunfire with that suspect. It may or may not have dash cam documentation. It is worth noting that there are also cases of seemingly unjustified police action that never garner much in the way of national attention. Which stories will go viral, and which will not, has always been a bit of a mystery to me.
I’m not quite sure of the point you’re trying to make. If it’s that most officers who use force in the course of carrying out their duties are justified in doing so, I can only say, “Duuuhhh…” I’ve already stated my beliefs about such officers (did you even read the second paragraph of my last post?) and have vowed not to repeat myself. If you find it difficult to understand that a person can support law enforcement, and yet condemn instances of obvious law enforcement overreach, I can’t help you there.
A lot, and when police are justified, you dont hear a peep, because we all want armed, and dangerous criminals off the street.
However, this goes both ways, for every unjustified shooting how many did not have video documentation? I will go as far to say thank god for cell video, because many times there was no video, or they have tried to suppress the dashcam video.

That’s called “doing your job.”
Cops using excessive and abusive force against a black man – nothing unusual there. But a grand jury indicting the cop – amazing (even if it took two tries).
This ^^^^was just awful! Yes, I know he is a criminal, but that does not justify kicking and breaking his jaw after he has submitted.
40 shootings since the riots, including 10 Thursday night:
More from the Baltimore Sun story:
Lt. Gearhart believes that the only two choices are cops who use excessive force and cops who don’t do their jobs at all. That speaks volumes.
Hmm. I didn’t see that quote from Lt. Gearhart in the article.
It makes me so angry when cops do this. Last summer, the same thing happened in NYC because they were mad at the mayor and decided to teach him a lesson. Way to show your true colors.
Angry at the police for what?
I don’t think any of the 40 shootings in Baltimore since the riots were police shootings. Kind of a stretch to blame the police.
This is just sad…

No riots, no protesting, no headlines…how many of the 26 deaths SINCE Freddie have been black men…why is there no outrage?
Again, why no protests…
Your article states these are primarily black men killing black men in areas that are known for drug trafficking.
The people within this community are just trying to survive each day. They would leave if they could. They have no resources to leave and are powerless to stop those that have no regard for life.
No one else cares enough to protest because they do not believe it is impacting their lives.
I think most people in general are tired. They are focused on meeting their needs and the needs of their family and they have nothing left to give at the end of the day. They have another day just like it tomorrow. It is a grind. Life has become a grind for all those families of 4 making $50,000 a year.
Didn’t any of you watch “The Wire?”
This has a much greater impact on lives than does the high profile (but comparatively rare) police officer involved shooting. Shot dead is shot dead. I’m sure the mothers of each young man is just as devastated by their death…even if not at the hand of law enforcement. Why, given the high profile of the recent Freddie case are these ongoing homicides not even news worthy?
