Do you mind me asking when you got it <3

Um I got it today at about 3:30 PM

hey guys! does anyone else know or estimate if theyres gonna be another wave of likely letters? is there even a wave left?

Hi! I also got a likely letter yesterday around 9:30 pm CET which I think is 3:30 east coast. It could be in waves if it looks like we’re getting them around the same time

Do I even have a chance of getting in if I haven’t received a likely letter :frowning:

exactly, like at this point I’m just expecting a flat out rejection :frowning:

I wouldn’t give up hope yet!!! You’re more likely to talk about receiving one rather than not receiving one. I’m almost certain likely letter receivers are NOT the majority. The vast majority of admits at any college have not received them.

If anyone is interested, I got a likely letter too! It came on February 9 at 3:38 PM. Here’s my info:

Stats

  • 100.68 weighted on a 100 point scale
  • 1450 SAT
  • Ranked 4/1421

Extracurriculars

  • Student Organization President and other positions throughout 4 years
  • Mock Trial/Moot Court Team Captain
  • NHS Tutoring Chair
  • International Moot Court Competition
  • Varsity Swim Team
  • School Leadership Team
  • 3 Legal Internships
  • Part-Time Job at an Accounting Firm
  • 2 Organizations I regularly volunteer for

Recommendation Letters

  • All Solid
  • A woman from one of the legal internships I participated in is a Barnard alumnae and she wrote a letter to the Dean of Admissions on my behalf

Essays

  • General Essay: honestly pretty weak, not too confident in it
  • Why Barnard: average, nothing too special
  • Bold Questions: pretty good, somewhat confident in it
  • One Woman: amazing, my favorite supplement that I wrote the entire application season (I wrote about CJ Cregg from The West Wing!)

Miscellaneous

  • Public School
  • White
  • From NYC
  • Applied as a Political Science Major

I’ve heard the likely letters come out in waves, so don’t lose hope if you haven’t gotten one yet! Also, they only send them out to a small fraction of people so if you didn’t get one it doesn’t mean you were rejected!

sure!
stats:
IB predicted 43
GPA 4.0 uw (my school doesn’t weigh them)
SAT 1500 superscored (780 ebrw 720 math, took it twice)
my school also doesn’t do class ranks

ec’s were mainly leadership/community/service-oriented. i’d say they’re pretty strong for my school but nothing crazy. i do have a lot of honors from my school (cum laude society, leadership award, and a handful of academic awards) though. i haven’t read my rec letters but i have a feeling one of the two i submitted was really strong. i think that out of all my supplements my barnard ones were my favorite. i’m not sure how much it matters but i’m an american citizen but i’ve been living in europe for all my middle & high school years. i also applied undecided.

hope this helps! <3

honestly I’m getting more and more nervous every day… its so easy to get caught up in the admissions process but it calms me down to think that I will end up wherever I need to be. barnard is my dream, but I know there are lots of other great schools out there too

Same here. I’m trying hard to focus on school and extracurriculars and go back to a normal non-application schedule. Also lots of yoga!

is there gonna be another wave of likely letters today? or have they already finished sending them out

anyone still having issues with financial aid?? my fafsa and my w-2s still haven’t been received and im seriously considering attending aha ha ha yikes
