The Giants will take Theo off the Cubs hands.
Once you’ve been to the promised land and tasted that sweet sweet nectar of victory, when you don’t make it back there’s an irrational urge to lop off a head or two.
I don’t know about Maddon, I don’t follow the Cubs, but geez, 95 wins and you get fired? And canning Theo would just be stupid.
Get ready for Red Sox / Yankees! Gonna be in survival mode for sure.
Go Red Sox!
Come on Brewers.
Maddon has already been announced as returning next season. I do not expect Russell to be back, and for me I think Schwarber should be sent to an AL team to be a DH.
Notably without an extension. Typically, managers do not enter the last year/season of a contract without an extension. Maddon at this point is considered a “lame duck.”
The season starts next year. I know what you mean, though.
JD Martinez laser tater, 3-0 BOS
And the Rockies forgot it was Rocktober…
Gotta be hard for the Rocks, tbh, just game after game, every day, some extra innings even, four different cities…the path of the tiebreaker–>wild card–>NLCS is grueling. Oh, and the Brewers are good.
I don’t see the Yankees getting past this Red Sox team (although I’m not betting either way haha!), but they are stacked for the future, and if they go out this round you can bet Cashman’s going to go all out for Machado and/or Harper, and they still have a pretty loaded farm system. Future’s looking very, very bright for the team from the Bronx.
Happ, who the Yankees got precisely to face the Red Sox, is out after 2+ innings. Not a good start for the Yankees, who now need to burn their bullpen for 6 innings.
(Can’t say I’m a huge Sox fan, but I want to root for them this series since the Yankees crossed a picket line this week: https://www.bostonmagazine.com/news/2018/10/04/yankees-crossed-boston-hotel-workers-picket-line/ )
Manny Machado! 2-0 Boys in Blue.
I tuned into the Dodger-Atlanta game and saw Grandal homer. Changed to the Boston-NY game and just saw Aaron Judge hit a homer.
HURRY @SUSHIRITTO ! GO BACK TO THE DODGER GAME!
I’ll tell ya what. The Boston crowd is a little bit more into it than the LA crowd.
Dumb delayed steal attempt by Puig, he’s easily caught stealing, then he HUGS the Braves’ Culberson (former teammate).
What’s up with all the hugging lately. I miss the old days when Ty Cobb went into 2B spikes up. Or at least a Chase Utley wiping out Rueben Tejada. :))
Wow, that was a nail biter. Can’t believe Cora took Porcello out in the eighth after giving up a infield hit. It was basically a swinging bunt. Wouldn’t be Kimbral if he didn’t make it interesting by giving up the dinger to Judge.
Way too much stress for game 1.
I wonder if Cora was trying to really limit Porcello’s pitch count so he can go in game three in 3 days.
Lately Kimbrel seems incapable of getting three outs without some drama.
To quote myself
well, today they had a 5 run lead and it was barely enough.
