Bat Mitzvah Gift Suggestions

Limey, I think leggings are much to casual for an evening bat mitzvah party. People are going to be dressed the same as if it was an evening wedding.

I live in the Boston area, and I guess we’re cheap. I never give that much for a bar or bat mitzvah celebration! I’m more in the $100 range, or if it’s someone close, $180.

In the South, at least in my experience, gifts are not that large, except perhaps for close family members.

$100 range is practically unheard of here, except for family member. $18 is just fine. $32 would be too high.

MiamiDAP: The most recent post is about two adults attending the service and celebration party of a business associate. The event is in downtown Boston and it’s in the evening, so formal. $18 or $36 is what a child would give to another child, perhaps. These are clients of the latest OP and two adults will be attending. The gift should be the same as what they may give to a wedding. I personally don’t think the venue matters, whether formal or not, I give pretty much the same amount based on my friendship or to a business client or to a relative. Personally, for a business associate, $300 sounds way too generous. $180-$200 should be more than enough. Save your $$, Limeymum. Spend it on your new outfit!

All things are now in perspective; my outfit is awaiting! somewhere
