anyone know when decisions come out?

Typically around March 15.

I think their recent pattern has been a Saturday morning. Last year we were all sort of expecting March 11, but it ended up being March 18th. So the 16th is a good guess with the 9th or 23rd also being reasonable guesses. But I don’t believe they have announced the date yet. Last year they emailed my D on a Fri to say decisions would be released the next day. Good luck!

I think you’re right on Saturday mornings. My daughter’s ED decision (Bates '26) was super early on a Saturday - I think 6am! (Not that you want to get up that early…). Best of luck!!

I saw that, too - up from 8,900 to over 10,000. That’s a big jump! Good representation of students from around the U.S. and overseas as well.

checked avg around 700 ppl accept waitlist spot. and around avg of 17 get off. so very unlikely

Also waitlisted & checked some CDS data over past years. A few years ago they’d take 40-odd off the waitlist (and way less were waitlisted in the first place). Most recent CDS shows 1200ish waitlisted with 0 accepted

ETA: Point is, the average they provide could potentially be misleading

The numbers can change dramatically from year to year. Since 2016, I’ve seen numbers of waitlisted students admitted range from 40, 11, 0, 2, 1, all the way up to 68. Regardless, students should never expect a waitlist acceptance.

If you are waitlisted and Bates is your top choice, send a short email updating any achievements or noticeable grade improvements. You can state that Bates is your top choice and you will attend if accepted, if indeed that is true. If you don’t need financial aid, it is probably worth mentioning.

Congratulations to those accepted!

D24 rejected after deferral from ED1. Her first rejection. I’m a little surprised she wasn’t waitlisted. Oh well! Congrats to all accepted!
