Baylor Class of 2025 EA/RD

Well as for the cookies, we are in state and my son was accepted. At this point we have not received any aid money.

Also received the invitation for the online class at 750.00 per credit hour…

when you get the cookies make sure you share with your family

I’m thinking the mail is slow moving up here in the frozen tundra. Maybe our cookies are in transit? I ordered Target gift cards on December 5, tracking said they’d arrive Dec. 9, but now it says they may not arrive until Dec. 27.

We are waiting for our cookies too!

I would greatly appreciate if someone can shed some light on what exactly will be the agenda during I2E? I read somewhere that students will be set up in small groups where they discuss a topic along with a faculty member. Will the topic for discussion be announced during the I2E meeting or will it be put up on the Baylor scholarship website earlier? Some say that students write an essay at the end of the I2E session.

I do know that we (or your child) will have to write an essay after the meeting.

Who do they send the cookies to? All applicants who got accepted?

Yes

No I was accepted and didn’t receive any lol

It could be just for those who have committed by paying the deposit. Just my guess…

No cookies coming to us then…waiting for something substantial besides the offer of loans before we deposit.

No cookies for us too  D is very eagerly checking the mail box for cookies every day!

Did any of you get T shirts / Sweatshirts? D was saying some kids got them as well.

Baylor is very high up on our list! D even got a handwritten card from the admission counselor. It was clearly custom written as it had references to her Essay!

We did not put in a deposit and we received cookies. He was offered admission several weeks ago.

We got the T shirt, but no cookies yet. My D is waiting for the financial package as well.

I have also gotten a personalised handwritten letter and the cookies. I’m sure those who haven’t received the cookies yet will soon! I was sent a white Baylor t-shirt after Premier, is that what you guys are referring to?

We received the cookies and D also has the I2E scholarship essay to write now that she’s attended her virtual session.

We went to tour Baylor on Wednesday and it was terrific. They made us feel really wanted (compared to Dartmouth which was honestly horrible- they treated us as if they would be doing us a favor by admitting my Daughter, who is as well qualified as any candidate applying there).

I guess I can’t say enough about how nice everyone was at Baylor, from start to finish. The tour included going into a the science building and the business building and also going on the field at McClane stadium

At the end of the tour my D was given a t-shirt and water bottle, which were a nice touch. We went to the Baylor bookstore and they gave us 20% off our purchase because we had done the tour. Even the folks in the bookstore were nice

I have to say, I loved the tour. I loved the students who gave the tour and the people we met there. The campus was very nice. We loved the size and just the general vibe of the school. Overall, it was really worth the trip to Texas to see what Baylor is all about. We are both glad we went.

wow … really nice to hear you loved the campus.

My daughter did the virtual tour and she fell in love with the campus as well! Its our top choice now.

It’s great to hear that ur daughter loved the tour! Mine was on zoom (I’m from IL) yesterday. Did u get to see the inside of
any classrooms? They only showed us inside the building. Also, the essay is a different topic from the one that was on the I2E application, right?

We got to see where the labs are, but not inside classrooms.
I was set on a&m at first, and almost immediately after arriving at Baylor for the tour I knew it was where I was supposed to be! Everyone was so friendly and several tour guides came up to me and discussed my major, where I was from, etc. Such a friendly school!

We did not get into any classrooms, just the main lobby/reception area of the buildings we went in. This was better than other tours (lately) all due to Covid. I wish we could have seen some classrooms but we weren’t given that opportunity.

I did ask our tour guide about in-person classes etc. She said that 75% of her classes were in person. Nice! Another guide said that her classes were mainly remote or hybrid. So it must be professor choice. That said, the tour guide said that Baylor is hoping to have 75% of all classes back in the classroom in the spring.

I can honestly say that I don’t know what the topic of the I2E essay is. I only know that it is different.

What exactly happens in I2E? Do they give an impromptu topic and have the group of students discuss it along with the faculty member? The topics are not given upfront, right? Or is there a web page where the topics are posted upfront?

Would be really great if you can let us know the format of I2E and what they do (not really interested in the actual topic for discussion - just the format).
