I didn’t get the I2E scholarship but did round one. Feel free to message me
Wondering if those who receive the Achievement Gold also received merit upon acceptance? Is this in addition to that?
Yes - we received a 64k academic scholarship when admitted. 1500 SAT.
Hi everyone! I attended Round 1 of I2E for those who are wanting details for Round 2 here was my experience! I attended the Honors College Session. To start off, we answered a few ice breaker question polls while waiting for everyone to join. There were about 300 people on my zoom call. Then the Dean spent about 20 minutes talking about the main topic of the session, which was Love, Belonging and Happiness in Film, Culture and Philosophy. He shared clips of movies and quotes from books as we listened him discuss the concept of love in our culture vs the love of God. We then broke out into break out rooms of about 10-15 people. These breakout rooms only lasted about 15 minutes, so if you are wanting to stand out and be heard, you need to be one of the first people to introduce yourself and give your input on the discussion because not everyone will have the chance to speak, only about 5-6 in my group did. After that, we heard from some Honors College Alumni and had a nice Q&A session that was very informative. The entire thing lasted about an hour and a half. Overall, be prepared to listen and be ready to give your input on the discussion at hand. Your essay prompt will be based on the session you attended. Let me know if you want to know anything else!! Hope this helped.
Was the $64k for all four years? Or per year?
My daughter received the Presidential Scholarship ($23k/year) but didn’t get any notification of the Achievement Gold - just wondering if they perhaps were augmenting high-ranking students who didn’t get the top merit upon acceptance… or if I should have her ask for more!
It was for all 4 years.
And the $10k/year Gold Achievement? Is that $2500/year or $10k/year? Sorry for all of the questions - just making sure there’s not something else out there we should be asking for. Baylor is pricey!
$10k per year, renewable for 4 years.
My son just got an unexpected email from Baylor. He was accepted and given a 92k merit scholarship. What a blessing!
Was my D the only kid admitted to Baylor without any aid at all? Certainly feels that way reading through this thread!
Did she meet the requirements for merit?
Did you check your financial aid package? If you didn’t get any merit aid, But you may get a good grant.
I don’t know what the requirements for merit are. But if it is based on test scores, she went test optional. There is definitely nothing in her financial aid package when she logs into her portal.
I wasn’t able to find a break down and requirements for merit scholarships. There are 5 different levels to qualify for. Did you look under the financial aid tab? That is where you find scholarship information.
Yes. Under her financial aid tab it just says “your academic record didn’t qualify you for an academic scholarship”. We won’t be eligible for any need based aid. It’s a bummer because I know that my D is trying to decide between Baylor and one other school right now.
I am very sorry to hear that. We did not qualify for need based either and without the merit wouldn’t be able to do it. I am so grateful and thankful for the merit. Best wishes to your daughter on her journey.
We did not get any merit either. Reading this thread it seems like everyone is getting at least one free year except us.
Thanks for sharing. Nice to know we’re not alone!
Daughter just cancelled her application to Baylor, so that will free up the merit scholarship money they offered her. Baylor was one of her top choices, but we would have been in debt with loans and under financial stress for 4+ years. Sad to make that decision, but daughter has other more realistic financial options that she is excited about. Best wishes to all on this college decision journey!
So sorry about that @JenR8R
Where’s your daughter heading?
