We had a funny call last night. My phone rang and caller ID showed as “Baylor University.” I answered, said hello, someone on the other end said hello, and all I heard was giggling and a lot of loud laughter and then they hung up.
I assume this is one of those student to student recruitment calls? But they called me, not my daughter, and then there was the abrupt hang up. I’m not sure what to think.
Hi! Congrats on your daughter’s acceptance. Do you mind providing some stats? I see your daughter was invited to theI2E. My son has applied also, but has begun to loose hope…
BU’s guaranteed tuition program offers some clarity. Pay a higher tuition rate initially (typically first two years) but that rate is locked in for all 4 years. I guess the savings starts the 3rd year. The rate is locked in during the first semester of freshman year so you know what you will be paying every semester after that if you remain in the program.
Correct, my oldest daughter is BU class of 2027. We did the guaranteed tuition program and just paid her second semester sophomore year and this is the first year paying a bit less than the current or “unlocked” tuition rate. It didn’t take long for the guaranteed plan to become more efficient for us.
There are always exceptions, but it feels like most tuition rates only go up. Especially so for schools that are in demand.
Oh definitely it never hurts to ask. The waiting is so hard! I get it. The waiting is worse than the applying! And I wanted to give you some kind of answer, to let you know that you were seen and heard.
Thank you so much! I truly appreciate that! Even waiting to see if anyone had insight was difficult so I absolutely appreciate you chiming in! It is so hard!
You are not alone. I’ve got one at Baylor, another one accepted ED and are still waiting on her twin who applied EA. She’s starting to feel like she may not get in.
I have one older DD that is a JR. at BU. Now have the newest ED admitted one, and still waiting on EA twin. The twins have different majors. They are pretty similar, ED did that bc BU was it for her. She knew this is what she wanted. I am concerned that applying differently may affect them. Just recently their friend, who is also a twin, said she got in and het twin was declined. Sooo stressful.
