My daughter graduated last May as a biochem major. She was very satisfied with the pre-med science courses she took at BC and challenged by the 4 semester Honors chemistry program. She took advantage of being so close to Boston by working in a lab at the Harvard school of public health and volunteering at the Boston Medical Center. Her BC background served her well as she is now in her first year in the 8 year MD/PhD program at Yale.

SRB2006, good luck to you. It seems like you have several great options to select from. I don’t think you should go to BC with the intention of transferring. Make your selection based on what school best fits your particular interests. You only have 4 years to take advantage of college life so go where your heart tells you to go.

As for the BC alumni that you talked to, they seem to be out-of-touch with today’s college scene. I wouldn’t base my decision on their comments.
