What’s your intended major?
Having Calc or not is partially dep on that.

Although showing the strongest academic record ALL AROUND
(that you can amass) will be a definite plus.
Yale also has a quantitative rqmt for graduation so if you can take Pre-Calc or AP Calc, that would show that you can handle college level math.
Good luck!

I am also african american female with similar stats and 2250 on the SAT (790,790,670) I’ll let you know how i do early admission and maybe it will give you an idea.

umm, not having calc will hurt you. especially if it is offered and if it is an AP. also, you’ll need like 5s on the aps and at least 750s on each subject. this may be a tad excessive, but better safe than sorry

It’s hard to tell, as you are a junior. However, if you keep your grades up and take hard classes through junior and senior years, you should be in good shape. Your location and minority status are definite plusses, but it sounds like you have the merit to back it up.

True. I believe Yale (and most other elite colleges) recommend 4 years of math. And when a place like this says recommend, it means you probably should.

Hey, I have friends at Eastview! My church is in Apple Valley but I live in Prior Lake. Is Eastview really a top school?? Guess I don’t know much about rankings…

Lemonjello, what do you mean by her location being a definite plus?
