Beach wedding formal - help!

I found a top I really like (I actually went into a real store and tried stuff on @-) ). It is orange and white with heavy beading on the front - kind of a kaftan style that falls below the hip (nit the flowy floaty style I was envisioning). It is bright and colorful and something I will feel comfortable in and I think will look nice for a beach wedding. Question - I think it will look much sharper with white linen pants rather than colored ones. Is that ok? I would not wear a white top to a wedding but are white pants ok given that the top is colorful and quite long? Don’t want to make any faux pas!

I actually rough several new tops - much more fru fruey than my normal style. For the first time in several years I am in regular sizes not plus and enjoyed having a lot more selection and they had several I really liked so it was fun shopping for a change.

I personally think White slacks would be fine!

MTried to make your link work. Nope. Good try though. Can you post the name of it?

White pants r fine. They r the background. Is the wedding casual? The top is all cotton, not exactly a fancy material but perfect for the rehearsal dinner or after brunch. Seriously, I’m not trying to be critical, but I don’t know the parameters of the affair. When you said “formal”, I thought of a dressier tunic top.

That top is really cute. I think white pants would be fine.

I thought they probably would be - I’m not awfully up on these things. I’ll go ahead and order a pair of white linen pants from Marks and Spencers (I think I’m done with actual trying on in a store for this season - but I have my son’s wedding in January so may have to venture in a changing room again)

Don’t know why the link doesn’t work. Oh well.

It just spins and spins on my iPhone. I found the name of it in the link! Go with the white pants. It would be like having a wide white stripe on the bottom of a skirt. Definitely fine. Especially at the beach!

I am drooling over the idea of beach weddings. I have been to several and generally wear a maxi skirt…something I love but rarely have a change to wear…with a pretty guaze-ish top, great artsy jewelry and sandals that can be slipped off in the sand. Gasp but LuLaRoe has some really perfect Maxie skirts to fit every body type, in every pattern and material possible and can be got online for a song these days.

@bookworm - it’s hard to tell from the photo but there is a lot of beading round the neck and all down the front which dresses it up some. It is cotton yes, but I was actually thrilled to find cotton as the wedding is on the beach in the summer heat. The brides are wearing pantsuits and my husbands sister (,Mom of one of the brides) is wearing pants and a top. I think the top will be work well. Now need to figure out shoes and maybe some accessories. But with the beading down the front I’m not sure a necklace wouldn’t detract.

That helps. Ya, just simple sandals. I’m vertically challenged, so I like wedges that give me an inch, but still fit like flats. A little bling on the top strap, and u r good to go. With the coral top, anything nude or silver would go. When my back was at its worst, I got such shoes at Macy’s, and they turned out to be the most comfy shoes I’ve owned for a long time. (Now I’m back to Mephistos, but not for a dressy affair).

It’s a beach wedding. If you are wearing white socks, and that nice shirt…really…white sandal would be fine. You don’t need silver IMHO…that would be a little off.

Get something confortable. At the last beach wedding we were at…everyone took their shoes off for the ceremony because it was literally on the beach, in the sand…and it was way easier walking barefoot. I’m not sure I ever put my shoes back on!
