Has anyone successfully conquered their laziness? I feel like I’m so lazy but I really don’t know how to overcome this. For example, I come home and fall asleep right after dinner until 8 and then I find that I rarely do anything that could’ve been done. It sucks lol If anyone has good methods as to how to overcome this please share

I was doing the same thing before track started, now I just start 2 hours later

i dont even try to overcome it anymore. i just accept it

you might be burnt out. maybe you should rest and do nothing for a while and then you’ll be back to normal

I have the same problem.

I generally don’t start on homework until around 8-9 PM. By then, I rush to finish it so I can go to bed before 12 PM.

Rinse and repeat.

^ same here except that my bedtime is usually 1-130 sometimes later :/

I forced myself to study as soon as I got home, and refused to do anything until I was done.

Then I just got use to the routine, so now I can usually procrastinate on homework and still get it done before I go to sleep.

I have discovered a simple solution to your problem, but I am too lazy to explain it to you

laziness is incurable

iProcrastinate podcasts ftw.

haha me too. 'cept I come home at 4 and eat a snack (meal, lol), and then sleep until 9pm. then i get up and depending on how much force my parents use, eat dinner (again?!, you ask!), then do nothing till 1am, when i sleep. Sometimes my “afternoon” “nap” extends till 10.30pm, which means I stay up till 3-4am doing nothing on the computer.

It’s a vicious cycle, I swear.

But really, I don’t know why I’m so exhausted after a day at school.

It must be due to school, since on weekends, I have the urge to nap, but not for 5 hours!

Really, you just have to force yourself. Usually working in a place that’s not home helps.

laziness is my pet peeve!!!
don’t get me wrong, i love spending some days under the covers watching movies all day long. but usually i cant seem to sit still! after school i hit the gym, babysit or have sports or extracurricular activities going on. typically i don’t get home until at least 8. and by then it’s time for dinner, homework and the phone lol

I take away all my funstuff so im so bored im forced to do something productive.

yes! for like a marking period =) I WAS SO PROUD! then it went downhill

Ha I have the laziness bug too. I pull the whole get to sleep at 4, maybe have a snack, and then sleep until 8 and not start homework until 10. I’ve found that I can work my way around this by finding some sort of motivation, which varies between classes and type of assignments (its so easy to procrastinate with essays and projects).

dollyflower, I read Zen Habits too, there is some really good stuff on there.
