Bed Bath & Beyond might be discontinuing coupons

Looks like BB&B might be doing away with those 20% off coupons! Bad decision, if you ask me.

Who shops so often at BB&B that they’d be willing to pony up $29 a year for the privilege of getting a 20% discount?! I like the store and do stop in but I don’t buy enough kitchen and bedroom items to make this worth my while. They’d certainly lose me as a customer. I only shop there with a coupon. Without the coupon, I’d lose my reason to shop there.

That said, my girls have all done a bridal registry here because they are a terrific store to work with. Returns are a breeze.

I’ve been searching for comfortable everyday flatware since I’ve lost too many spoons from the set I got in the 1980s. I bought a few pieces to try out from BBB (link below) in the Windermere pattern and it fits my requirements. I was waiting to gather up some 20% off coupons before I purchased everything I need to last the next 25 years - I better get going!

Whaaaat?!?! I have a lifetime supply of those coupons piled up! :stuck_out_tongue:

I have a gazillion coupons. I never shop at BB&B and not use a coupon. I’ve bought expensive toaster oven and expensive vacuum there because of the coupon discount. Just bought window treatments for guest bedroom and office and mattress topper for guest bed. No reason for me to shop there if I’m going to pay the same price for same item at other store. I’ll just wait for whatever to go on sale.

I think this will reduce their bridal registry big time. I know lots of 20 somethings that registered there so their family and friends could shop using those coupons. Really…this is just bad business.

I predict Amazon will see a huge increase in things being bought that USED to be bought at BBB.

No way I would pay $29 to get money off…unless I was buying say…a set of cookware, or a kitchen aid. But really…I could probably shop online and find the same orice as the 30% off one…without paying for it.

Oh…and BBB…everyone offers free shipping from time to time these days.

Agree! The ONLY reason I shop at BB&B is the coupons. I will certainly go elsewhere without them.

This will drive more people to shop for housewares at Costco and Amazon using their existing memberships.

Welp they just lost my mom and me. It’s overpriced without the coupons.

I hope they are reading this and I hope it makes someone at BB&B rethink that decision.

^^
Definitely average to overpriced for most items.

I particularly like the occasional coupon for $5 off if you spend $15. There is always something I need between $15 and $25. The $5 off makes it a great bargain.

Even with 20% off it is still more expensive than many other stores, without it just simply overpriced.

I will stop shopping there if they discontinue the coupons. That is, unless they actually drop prices to become competitive without the coupons.

I agree, they should be making the coupons better, increasing customer service, and in general, making the brand more attractive (not less attractive).

I only shop there in the Beyond department!

Always shop there with a coupon at hand. Ours has a world Market which sells a variety of international foods, and a personal products section similar to a CVS/Riteaid//Walgreens where I can purchase toothpaste, cosmetics, shampoos, health bars, cleaning products and other things using their coupons. Would not be willing to pay an annual fee to shop there.

I got the email telling me about this ‘wonderful opportunity’ earlier this week. When I saw the $29, I thought, “No way.” We are still downsizing and I don’t need a reason to buy much else from them, except when we have a wedding to go to and the couple is registered there.

Hmm, not in a hurry to $29, but the order at home and pick up near your college (Pack & Ship?) was really helpful when we moved our daughter into her dorm over the summer.

I would go with Amazon Prime student account that has free two day shipping…and is free to undergrads for at least six months. I would order from there.

Or overstock…which charges a whopping $2 shipping.

BBB will lose my (infrequent) business!

I only shop at BBB with coupons, and have a slew of them. I wouldn’t pay $29 to shop there.
