This is the official discussion thread for Bentley Class of 2028 RD applicants. Ask your questions and connect with fellow applicants.
The RD decisions will come out on March 15th at 4:30pm ET. Good luck to all applicants!
Received the “Please withdraw if you are no longer interested/admitted to another university” email today. Received these from a couple schools just before decisions came out so looks like mid march is on target. Curious if anyone has any data points from the ED accepted students (scores/ec/gpa etc…).
Received email confirming decisions being posted after 4:30 tomorrow (Friday). Good luck!
“while you wait” disappeared and “admitted student” is now an option which allows you to submit deposit. Thinking their is a slight glitch in their update - but will take it as good preliminary sign.
Same. There is an option to reply to offer of admission.
Accepted - in-state, Finance.
Son 24 got in with 22k scholarship, Honor program. We are in-state.
Can you share stats?
Accepted 10K merit OOS 3.6UW, 8AP’s, honors classes, varsity sports and part time job during school year.
In state, 4.0 Weight GPA (mid year report), 3 APs (including Micro and Macro economics), Varsity football. Son had part time jobs during summers – he is at work right now . Some community services work too. Applied test optional because he just could not get a good enough SAT to match the rest of application package.
We used RiseMe to track for microscholarship too. I think 22K is the same amount sited on RiseMe.
Accepted OOS 3.87 gpa, TO
4 APs + honors
National Honor Society + 3 other subject honor societies, nominated for others but could not commit to all the individual volunteer requirements
Varsity and club athlete, volunteer hours and community service project
Part time job, probably some other smaller ECs I can’t remember off the top of my head
Was the merit award in the acceptance letter or somewhere else within the portal?
Merit was located in the acceptance letter. Son received $17K annual merit but the adjusted price tag of $65K per year (with merit) is ridiculous!
Thank you, I guess no merit for him. Not sure it’s worth the price tag with no merit especially when he’s received a lot more elsewhere. It’s not an elite institution. Congrats! And yes, 65k with merit is still high.
We were saying the same thing tonight. Very disappointing and seems like they made an intentional change across the board, but that’s based off of a few posts here and some other friends who applied that we know. It’s one of his top 2 choices but at this price it’s a non starter. Hopefully they consider peer school offers.
Accepted OOS 3.96 uwgpa; 4.54 wgpa, TO
8 APs + honors
NHS, Girl Scout Gold Award, President’s Volunteer Gold Award, Varsity Song Captain, President culture club, VP service club, dance x 10 years, girl scouts x 10 years. Merit Scholarship $32K/year.
Accepted OOS (way down south) but 0 merit. 34 ACT but only 3.65 UW. 7 APs. Multiple scholarships elsewhere. He loves Bentley and we have family in the area, but the cost is outrageous.
They definitely pivoted to Total Gpa this year. Have another student same school but with higher GPA, but no sat/act, 1-2 AP courses and a few honors who got close to $20K. So within the same HS they did not take Rigor or ACT into account or did not weight it as much as GPA. Different from other schools as he had good Merit offers from comparable B-school programs. Shame because he has it ranked #1 but I agree it’s outrageous.
My son got Provost Scholarship at Bentley, how do I know if he is considered honored or not?
