Berkeley Admissions Released Early?

Wongtongtong might be right…they haven’t made the final decisions and that definitely explains why there were some gaps between the numbers.

However, I couldn’t help thinking the implication of the news…it was posted on March 21, which was Monday, and it was when all people on this CC thread talked about the supposed leakage of admission decisions so maybe they were trying to cover up the issue by saying that the admission decisions are still “subject to final week”. Oh god maybe I’m just reading too much into these stuff LOL the waiting is definitely making me become paranoid haha

so…any other thoughts?

I bet they posted that since they realized what they had done and didn’t want people freaking out and calling them about it. By saying they are still making decisions, they calm down the people who weren’t on the list and stop the ones who were from getting too excited…Smart move Cal.

actually, not all who are admitted will accept berkeley, so what’s the point of putting everyone’s name on the directory?

I was accepted to UCLA, but my name is not on the UCLA directory, and it isn’t on the Berkeley one either.

Trivolve, it’s already been determined that Cal ALWAYS puts admitted students on the directory before anyone even commits.

oh. okay… :D

After receiving the initial tip, i checked the name of a few kids, who I know are Regent’s Scholars and have been admitted. However, once the names were removed, one of the names no longer shows up…interesting.

did anyone from out of state find themselves in here?

^^ I was invited for a regents interview (praying I receive the scholarship). My name was on the list yesterday morning; however, it is no longer there. I’m hoping I’m still accepted. I’ve been wearing my “Cal: Admitted” button that the interview check-in lady gave me to like EVERYWHERE! lol

is the list still available somehow?

^ no but your mom is.

^ :d :d :d

Sorry. I failed. It doesn’t work like aim. The wait is not so bad now.

@lemaitre1 - lol, one did not need to log on to check out the names.

you applied to berkeley? lol.

i was actually enjoying this thread until i read your post… i guess time to sign of on this thread.

^Why sign off?? Lol the biggest lolz just began when he posted. haha

According to lemaitre’s hypothesis you can get your classmates rejected by searching for their names in the directory. A public database exists to provide data to the public. There’s nothing wrong with searching it.

The admissions office just doesn’t want a flood of questions from speculating high schoolers who would otherwise sit in front of their computers searching the calnet database every five minutes to see if their name pops up.

Well, good luck everyone. The wait is almost over.

I regret checking this thread and finding my name on the database. Indications of admission really kill the excitement when you find that you were really admitted.

^ well it does make it a lot more interesting when you get rejected.

^this wait is killing me…although a rejection is a most definite for me…using the power of reverse psychology always works for me =D…like after u take a test, u would like to think u did bad and then u actually get a good score…hehe…im attempting this

Now you sir, are impetuously mean. But that’s true…it would be interesting.
