Anyways, I hope that those of you that saw your names are actually in, if so, Congratulations!!

^ the names CAME, we SAW them, nobody CONQUERED anything.
let bygones be bygones, dte! less than 48 hours and no one will care about whose name was on the lists and whose wasn’t
cuz we’re all in this together!

…There is no use in arguing over what the names mean anymore. All the pieces of evidence found on this thread (quoted from Berkeley CalNetID FAQ) indicate that Berkeley updates everyone onto the list that has already been admitted but not accepted their offer.

Sorry if someone already said this, I don’t have time to read the whole thread, but is there any pattern to the people on the list? Maybe they’re all in-state, or people who didn’t apply for financial aid.

^There is no pattern, at all.

Pontiac, all you needed to do was read the last post of the thread…WongTongTong basically got it right there.

EDIT: haha Wong, of course there’s no pattern ;)

Has it occurred to any of you that UC Berkeley may have a way of identifying anyone who accessed this site and checked not just their own names but the names of other applicants as well which Berkeley would likely consider an invasion of privacy. A lot of you who accessed this site and checked to see who was admitted and who was not and are thrilled because they found their names on the list might not be so happy on Thursday when their names may not be on the official list. UC Berkeley has far more qualified applicants than they can accept. It may not be very difficult for them to discover the identities of all the individuals who exploited this possible inadvertent release of applicant names and replace them with qualified applicants who did not abuse the situation by Thursday night.

lol ^

@ Lemaitre
You are the most ****ing ■■■■■■■■ person on this planet.

Obviously you don’t know anything about the legal restrictions of privacy.
CAL was violating their privacy by posting the information up there for anyone to access.

^^^ hahahaha. omg, this thread would go CRAZY if what you said comes true!

^ i agree (about the second part of your post lol) in a less-blunt manner. hahahaha.

You must be ****ing kidding me. This is possibly the stupidest assertion I have ever read on CC. Keep in (t)rollin’

^ lol .

@Lamitire
Lol.
We should change this thread’s title to : “Lols for stupidity - Lamitire”.

Well, I’m guessing Lemaitre is not a class of 2011 high school graduate.

University of California, Berkeley, freshman admission decisions for fall and spring 2011-12 student applicants will be posted online at the end of the day on Thursday, March 24.

Admission decisions are subject to review all week until they are made final and posted on Thursday. Student applicants can log onto the myBerkeleyApplication page at the end of the day Thursday to see official admission decisions.

hmm I wonder what this implies…
btw the username is UCmouse…haha funny

^ hmmmm…i agree…this is rather interesting.

Hey UC Mouse when are they posting decisions? =D

:O That could imply that people whose names were on the list (acceptees) may be eventually rejected when the adcom is performing final reviews… Or am I reading too much into it?

Keep in mind obviously at least some applicants’ decisions have already been made. It would impossible to make that many decisions within 2 days.

But, from what we have seen, they only upload your name after they have admitted you. However, this could explain some of those gaps we saw (maybe they are still deciding on them/have already been rejected).
