This year’s applicants are listed from 925869 to 942357.

I say this because before that you’ve got other entries, with @berkeley.edu email addresses as well, and 925869 onwards, we’ve got ALL CAPS naming conventions with no personal data. The trail ends at 942357.

That’s 16488 possible acceptances offers.

I ran several random checks in the middle, and cannot confirm, but assume with reasonable confidence that it’s a continuous list of names.

UCB’s CDS states that ~10,500 students were admitted last year.

If the trend is to be continued, I think that it’s unlikely that all of the people who’re showing up are necessarily admits. Just my two cents…

yea, @thetechnut, that seems about right, sooo…assuming there are a total of 60k applicants this year, that would be about 26% admission,…which is immposible

Could it be that the list includes spring admits, transfers, as well as waitlisted applicants? That would seem likely as waitlistees need to accept Cal’s offer and enter user information.

i mean the numbers does not seem to be WAY OFF…its close to what the actual usual admission rate is…but its just a little off…so maybe i think @g0ld3n, that case may be right

@LostPuppy1993 - A ~25% admit rate is OK for UCB, but I doubt how they can increase the actual number of admits without scaling up the entire campus. Anyone got any news on construction workers going to UCB? ;)

@Fromcalwithlove - I think that’s a reasonable suggestion. I suggest we check sometime noon (pacific time) and then in the evening, just in case database changes are committed in one go, instead of one at a time.

That could be right actually! Admits, waitlistees, and transfers. Hopefully not waitlistees Do you guys think waitlistees are added to CalNet once they are admitted? Or are they added now -_- Is there any way of knowing?

@Thetechnut, if there will be more people listed, then that just means the list is for all applicants and not only for those who are just accepted/waitlisted. just maybe.

@mickjagger - Again, according to UCB CDS, around 3000 transfer applicants get through. That still accounts for 3000+ applications. Can waitlists be that big? I have no clue…
