Best and Worst Possible Senario's

I thought it might be fun to pass the time for everyone to write what there best/worst possible senario’s would be for march 10th. Below is an example and some possible questions to answer:

What schools are you applying to?
Which are your favorites?
Which wait lists/denials would be the hardest?
What do you think will end up happening?
If you (struck the jackpot and) got in everywhere where would you go?

Feel free to add anything else!

Here Is a (Not Real) Sample:

Applying: HADES
Best Senario: Get into all of them!
Worst Senario: All rejections
Favorites: Exeter, SPS
Hardest rejection: Andover (I am a quadruple legacy)
Probable Senario: Mostly Wait lists, hopefully an acceptance or two
Would Go: Exeter All The Way!!!
Doing__________ to pass the time: Doing some yoga and trying to be zen and not freak out counting the days!
Best Application Moment: Really connecting with my Exeter Interviewer
Worst Application Moment: Not meeting Hotchkiss deadline.

Applying: EHS, Mercersburg, Woodberry, Lawrenceville

Best Scenario: Get into all of them

Favorites: EHS, Mercersburg, Woodberry

Hardest Rejection: Each one is just as important

Possible Senario: 1 acception and 2 waitlists

Would go: EHS, Woodberry, or Mercersburg(depending on revisit days)

Doing basketball, and praying that I get in to pass the time.

Best Application Moment: Playing a kid at Woodberry in 1 on 1 and winning in front of the Basketball Coach, as well as great interviews at every school.

Worst Moment: Not meeting Lawrenceville deadline, and not being able to visit or interview there.

Applying: Andover, Deerfield, Exeter, St. Paul’s, and Choate
Best Senario: Get accepted to all
Worst Senario: Get rejected by all :frowning:
Favorites: Exeter and Andover by far
Hardest rejection: Exeter
Probable Senario: Waitlisted by all, hopefully (fingers crossed) accepted to at least one
Would Go: Exeter
Reading CC to pass the time, oddly enough
Best Application Moment: Interviews
Worst Application Moment: having to get my counselor mail the stuff in…

Applying: St. Pauls, Groton, Milton, Concord, Loomis Chaffee, Westminster, Governors, Local Private Day School
Best Scenario: Getting accepted to some (WITH FULL FINANCIAL AID) so the choice won’t be so difficult lol
Worst Scenario: Getting rejected at all schools and not being able to go to local private school because of FA. Then I’d have to go to a much worse public school.
Favorites: St. Paul’s, Concord, Groton
Hardest rejection: St. Pauls
Probable Scenario: Waitlisted or Rejected at St. Paul’s and Groton/ Getting into a few of my secondary options
Would Go: Favorites have switched but St. Paul’s
Doing__________ to pass the time: Basketball/ Reading/ Thinking of other things
Best Application Moment: Visiting all the schools
Worst Application Moment: Reading about all the other great other applicants on CC and thinking about how I can’t even come close to them.
Plans after M10: Italy and 5 months off of school

What schools are you applying to?
Choate, Hotchkiss, Andover, and Taft (my personal acronym? CHAT!)

Which are your favorites?
Are you kidding? My motto, “Love the school that loves you!”

What is your favorite part of each school?
Choate: Very welcoming student body. I got lost, and asked five people where to go. Each time, they would grin and tell me directions cheerfully.
Hotchkiss: The sense of community was awesome! The facilities were also state-of-the-art, and I loved how everything was in one building.
Andover: I was astounded by the music program, and I loved seeing the diversity of the school.
Taft: The architecture made me squeal like a fangirl! Loved the buildings!

Best case sanario?
I’m accepted to all of them!

Worst case sanario?
There is none! My public high school is good enough, and I can definitely live with not going to BS.

Which wait lists/denials would be the hardest?
Well, it would be perfectly fine for me to get a few rejections, but one admission would be nice.

What do you think will end up happening?
One waitlist, one Financial Aid waitlist, and two rejections.

What was your best Application Moment?
Really connecting with every interviewer, and having smashing tours!

What was your worst Application Moment?
Realizing that I completely botched my Choate and Hotchkiss applications.

What are you doing to pass the time?
Ranting, stalking CC forums, dancing, submitting stuff to an art show, playing music. Expanding my already huge love of art.

Do you have any plans after M10?
I’m going to try and get into an arts camp. Interlochen, maybe? I heard they’re quite good!

What schools are you applying to?
Hotchkiss & Choate

Which are your favorites?
Since I’m only applying to two, both!

Best case scenario?
Getting accepted to both :D

Worst case scenario?
Rejections from both, but it wouldn’t be absolutely terrible, staying where I am now would be alright.

Which wait lists/denials would be the hardest?
Both!

What do you think will end up happening?
Maybe one acceptance and one rejection/waitlist

Best Application Moment?
Definitely the interviews at both schools

Worst Application Moment?
Rushing the essays literally minutes from the deadline.

Doing__________ to pass the time:
Sleeping, running and eating and sleeping and eating and sleeping and eating…

Applying: Hotchkiss Andover Hill SPS
Best Senario: Get into all of them!
Worst Senario: All rejections
Favorites: I like all of them for specific reasons
Hardest rejection: Anyone would be hard to deal with
Probable Senario: Maybe 2 acceptances 2 waitlists
Would Go: I guess I’d know on revisit days
Doing__________ to pass the time: Doing basketball and training fore a marathon
Best Application Moment: Seeing the campuses
Worst Application Moment: seeing all the other qualified applicants on CC

Do you have any plants after M10? Just enjoying the rest of my freshman year and then vacation. My happiness can’t depend on M10.

Hey folks, remember that AOs do lurk here.I’m not sure I would “broadcast” where you want to go as your first choice unless you have already told the various offices. Jus’ saying…

confusedonhades I know exactly hoe you feel!! A lot of the applicants seem so talented, but I am sure youll do well

Thanks sandra099! If you don’t mind me asking, what grade are you applying for?

(Yes, I know my chances are very small, & that I’m only applying to the ‘big’ schools, but these are the only two schools I truly fell in love with. I’M A HOPELESS ROMANTIC, SO TO SAY(; )

What schools are you applying to?
Andover and Exeter

Which are your favorites?
I have no clue D:

What is your favorite part of each school?
Exeter’s Harkness- it’s a dream come true!
Anodver- The classes, oh, the classes!

Best case scenario?
I’m excepted into one

Worst case scenario?
Don’t get excepted into any, but I’ll be fine.

Which wait lists/denials would be the hardest?
Both, but especially Exeter since I’m the most hopeful about getting in there.

What do you think will end up happening?
Rejected into both… But I’ll survive.

What was your best Application Moment?
Awesome interviews! I really felt like it went as well as it possible could.

What was your worst Application Moment?
Writing and rewriting my essays about 10 times.

What are you doing to pass the time?
All my EC’s!

Do you have any plans after M10?
Volunteering all summer :P

Only applying to Groton.
Groton.
Groton.
Some days I’m really confident and some days I’m not. I think I’ll be waitlisted.
If I get in, I’ll go to Groton!!!

Stargirl3 (let me guess: inspired by Spinelli?), that’s an awful lot of hope placed on one school! :P

GoldenRatio
I’m only applying to Groton because they take 8th graders. And I’ve given it all my hope… :)

I’m new… who’s Spinelli? I’m assuming you don’t mean the author Jerry Spinelli :p

Of course I’m referring to the esteemed Jerry Spinelli! :D

What made you only apply to Groton?

My school is way too easy and I keep getting paired with kids who don’t want to work because I’m a “role model…”

I love Spinelli, but I’m sorry that I still don’t get the reference… Just met him for the 2nd time last month!!

gasp You’ve met him two times? He was my grade school idol!

Okay, so Mr. Spinelli wrote a book called “Stargirl,” and if you haven’t read it, do so. It’s a very fluffy, light book that explores the school system of hierarchy and conformity. Maybe there are deeper subjects, but I read it in third grade, so I can’t really give you an in-depth analysis XD

Sorry, I just noticed that you already answered my question on page 1. I didn’t see that before. I understand your sentiment; I’m always paired up with kids who dump all the work on me (whilst the other “role models” can linger with each other O_O and I’m not even the most recognized “role model” in our class. It’s irritating at times.)

Oh, yes, Stargirl!! lovelovelovelove!! I thought you were referring to my post, not my name!!

Let me explain myself. Stargirl does come from Spinelli. Kind of. My middle name is Star, so I stole the title. When he was signing my family’s copy of his new book, I told him this, and he gave me 2 temporary tattoos with the picture on front of the book. I’m still saving them for I-don’t-know-when.

And YES!! If there are so many other “role models,” why am I the one paired with the “losers?”
