Best phone to get?

I cracked my phone’s screen yesterday badly enough that I need to get a new one. I’m going to us cellular in a couple hours… any opinions on what I should get? Thanks!

If you’re not an Apple fan, the Samsung Galaxy S5 and the HTC One M8 seem to be neck-and-neck right now for the best phone on the market. Both have great specs. The galaxy has more extra “stuff”-heartrate monitor, better camera, added features. The HTC is more “basic” with less extra stuff. Also HTC has a less bloated Android User-Interface. (I’m upgrading on July 8th so I’ve been doing lots of research.)

I personally won’t use Android - they leak personal data like a sieve.

I cracked my ipad pretty badly, and it was out of warranty.
:frowning:
But otherwise it seemed to work, so. I just took it somewhere that fixes screens.
$100. Which is what it would have cost me to buy the part and do it myself.
Of course if you wanted a new phone anyway…but you shouldnt need to replace the whole phone if the rest is working.

I have the Motorola electrify now… but I’m pretty curious about the iPhone… any thoughts on it?

I like the iPhone. Favorite part that keeps me with Apple is iMessaging.

I like my iphone 5.

This is probably the worst time to buy an iPhone since a new one is just around the corner, and the 5 will be discounted soon. If you can wait a bit…

I must be the only one on the planet that does NOT want a larger phone! I miss my TINY flip phone that could be in my pockets easily.

I think iPhone is the way to go. Yes, the Samsung is, perhaps, a “better” phone, but iPhone simply offers more. I would get the 5S.

@thumper1‌ - you and my husband. We had to pry his Motorola Razr out of his hands. I have a Motorola Electrify M currently and really like it. U.S. Cellular offers iPhones now so may consider when I next renew but I don’t know… I really do like my Droid.

My husband just got a Motorola X. He is very happy with it.

We are a Droid family. DH got a new Samsung Galaxy S5 last month and really likes it.

It is only phone size and operating system that needs to be considered. For example, I got a Galaxy tablet as a gift and I find the touch screen on it to be not as sensitive as my iPhone screen. iPhone works great with my thick, fireproof fingertip skin. So do try those phones in the store and see what appeals to you.

I’ve had an iphone 4 and now a 5. I don’t do the step increments.
If it wasn’t for the App Store, not sure what I would be using.
I used to have a blackberry, but I like being able to hold it in one hand and type with my thumb.

i recently got a Galaxy and I am amazed at how much smarter it is than my old smart phone.

I have a phone that finds itself, I want one that finds my keys.

So I went to us cellular tonight, and I am not happy at all. A few months ago they said that my phone would be fine while going to college in North Carolina (I live in Wisconsin). Well… guess what its not. After six months of roaming they shut your line down, and you get a nice hefty bill for early termination. So I get to find a new carrier now… so I guess this cracked screen was a blessing in disguise.

I’m thinking I’ll go with Verizon now… and get an iPhone 5s (its also cheaper at Verizon too)

I’ve heard that time and time again with US Cellular. Only good if you stay local.

What I love about Apple products is the support I get in the stores. I was at their store when it opened this morning, and my 2 ipad Qs were quickly resolved. I cannot make a comparison to other brands, as I have never used them.
