I am enjoying Laserlight by Jessie J. I love the lyrics and the beat. Picks me up.

“You make me feel good. You make me feel safe.”

What do you enjoy listening to that makes the workout flow?

Interesting mix of slow and fast (really fast dance club fast) but I don’t think I’d like running to that as I prefer music that’s steady. Might be fine for doing weights though.

I have a lot of songs on my iPod and I probably like music in the 120 - 160 BPM range for running. I skip the slower stuff when it comes up. The slower stuff is fine for stretching and weights.

My favorite workout song is It’s Raining Men.

And EW&F September.

Eye of the Tiger, from the Rocky movie.

“Some Nights” by fun.

“My Sharona” by whoever that is.

“I’m So Excited” by the Pointer Sisters.

“Love Shack” by B52.

“La Vida Loca” by Ricky Martin.

And I am desperate for new songs – My running list is six years old.

Eye of the Tiger is on one of the mix Cds at the swimming pool, which makes me think of the Reed College Library because it is on heavy rotation during finals week.

I prefer Elvis Costello- Pump it Up.

Billy Idol: “Dancing with Myself”.

Thats also on rotation at the pool. ^^^^Although I think its a cover.
They have interesting mixes.
One CD has " Smells Like Teen Spirit" & " Don’t get around much anymore".
Since the age of the class ranges from 30’s to 80’s, they try to have something for everyone.
;)

If you go to iTunes, look at the categories, click “more” then go down to fitness and exercise, there are actually some playlists you can buy.

I got this one from the tex-mex supergroup, the Texas Tornados, the other day and it definitely kicked my workout up a notch. A cover of the ? and the Mysterians hit, [96 Tears](<a href=“Texas Tornados, 96 Tears, Gruene Hall, 1992 - YouTube”>Texas Tornados, 96 Tears, Gruene Hall, 1992 - YouTube).

Definitely helped me pick up the pace climbing a little hill on the way back to the car.

All…I can say after listening to most of these songs is hmmmmmm.

This is all subjective for all of us …there is no best or anything. We all have different tastes.

I think I like Its Raining Men even though I swear I am a heterosexual man. :)

I like other songs but they are too slow for what I want.

Well if this isnt fast enough…
[Pearl Jam - Lukin / Not For You - Manchester Arena 21st June 2012 - YouTube](<a href=“Pearl Jam - Lukin / Not For You - Manchester Arena 21st June 2012 - YouTube”>Pearl Jam - Lukin / Not For You - Manchester Arena 21st June 2012 - YouTube)

Happy (Sister Hazel)
A Touch of Gray (Grateful Dead)
Boulevard (Jackson Brown)
Shake It Up (The Cars)
Heartbreaker (Pat Benetar)

There are zillions of songs to get pumped up to. I am open to most anything being played in a weight room or practice field as long as it’s “clean.” I don’t like hearing rap with foul language laced through it…clean versions are ok.
