Best UK unis for biochemistry?

Hi there,
I am a current US highschool student interested in studying biochemistry in the UK. I am curious about what unis are the best for this subject.

Also, what are some recommendations for a student like me if financial issues are something that needs to be dealt with, are there any international scholarships or funding that can be received?

<a href=“Biological Sciences Rankings 2024”>Biological Sciences Rankings 2024;
<a href=“University guide 2013: league table for biosciences | Education | theguardian.com”>http://www.theguardian.com/education/table/2012/may/22/university-guide-biosciences</a></p>

Do read the descriptions of each course: you will find (if you look) very detailed descriptions.

Your application will be evaluated on standardized tests (SATs/relevant subject APs) > Personal Statement = Recommendation. Only ECs relevant to biochem will be considered. GPA will not be a factor except for a small number of unis, and will not be a huge deal for those.

AP Chem and Calc and Bio to at least SATII level are essential. For the top tier unis, scores of 5 / 700+ are necessary; lower down league tables some 4s / 600+ will be ok. You can find this info for each course - look for the ‘subject finder’ (biochemistry), and ‘entry requirements’. For A at A level, read 5 for AP or 650 - 750 (depending on the uni) for SATII; for B at A level read 4 for AP or 600-700 (depending on the uni).

You can use FAFSA for the UK. There are very very few scholarships or funds for international students, and few if any of them amount to a significant percentage of the total cost: for practical purposes, assume that you will not be able to get any funding.
