I liked University of Wisconsin, Madison’s acceptance letter since they kept going on about how well qualified I was ^^ University of Minnesota Minneapolis/st. paul for the Institute of Technology sort of was a big advertisement for their school after Congratulations! Michigan Tech gave me a fancy certificate ^^

None of them gave me free stuff though (I got a free shirt from Minnesota during a visit, but that doesn’t count). Should have applied to Kettering, they give out all the free stuff >_< I wouldn’t have minded having some of those shirts…

As for rejection letters…I have none. …I mean :)

Rice’s was horrible. Didn’t even get a rejection email (dunno if I’ll get a rejection letter in the mail >.<) All there is is under application status: “deny.” Harsh and cold… hopefully I’ll have better luck w/ the rest XD

Agreed with the other poster who talked about WUSTL’s letter, its great. The hand signing makes you feel even more special when you notice its in pen :)

OMG I KNOWW!!
haha im cracking up so hard…it seriously was like that.
i sat there and closed my eyes and clicked…then when i opened them it was just like"Application status: DENIED"

I liked claremont mckenna’s waitlisting letter. It made me feel less crappy, and gave me hope. But then I read other stats. Yay, I am now 1 of 500 other students on wait-list, where they’ve accepted anywhere from 27 to none!!! I like my odds! :P

I actually like that better. If I hadnt seen the “Status:DENIED” above, I migghtve thought the following words were the beginning of an acceptance.

"after careful review of your application…(sounds promising!)…

Caltech’s waitlist letter was very nice. It made me feel like I was somebody and they only took the first 200-some through the door and put everyone else on a waitlist :)

Olin’s rejection letter wasn’t very nice… rather terse.

Lehigh’s acceptance was nice: a big spiral notebook-think wrapped in plastic with a viewbook, information about admit weekend, etc.

boogie_horror, Macalester’s acceptance letter was signed as well! And the dean wrote ‘Way to go!’ next to it. I felt special, but then I realized how much it must suck for him to have to write that on 1000-odd acceptance letters.

I’m glad I didn’t get rejected from Rice (waitlisted instead though), since you find out online and it would just say ‘Application status: Denied’. That would suck.

Berkeley’s acceptance letter (well, online letter) wasn’t all that exciting.

Now I’m waiting to be rejected by all the Ivies I applied to… -_-;;

UCI’s rejection letter was unbelievable. Cold and brief. The first thing I saw when i logged on the website was this:

We are sorry that we are not able to offer you admission for fall quarter, 2008.

then:

Your application to UC Irvine is now closed.

We appreciated your academic achievements and admired your extracurricular involvement. UCI’s applicant pool was exceptionally qualified, and we regret that we do not have sufficient space to admit every applicant.

Thank you for your interest in UC Irvine. We wish you the very best in your educational future.

Wake Forest’s acceptance letter was disappointingly dull, but hey, I’m just glad I got it! In so many words, it said “you’re lucky, and don’t screw up or we’ll take back our offer.”

SMU’s was really really nice, with lots of red and blue ribbons, a hand-signed certificate, etc. The letter was well-worded and encouraging.

Miami Florida was nice, lots of student things like discount coupons, etc. It was a eye-catching though, very colorful. The letter itself was kind of boring, but congratulatory.

I didn’t go through the pain of receiving rejections; I went 4/4 XD
