^ to the above:
I would hardly consider that a “predicament”. That’s like saying which ferrari should i drive today?

Many people might not even get into their “match” schools and so you should just be thankful you got into your 2nd choice already. As for me, I love each and every school on my 11 university list and would be thankful going to any institution that I am accepted to.

i get where youre coming from scrabble564, im in the exact same situation. i applied early action for my 2nd choice but missed the early action deadline for my 1st. So i’ve gotten accepted to my 2nd choice which is a pretty good school i guess, but i have to wait until march 31 to get a decision from my top school…UGH its SO FRUSTRATING!! and like you, i dont even care about the other safety schools…

It spends the first paragraph talking really impersonally about how everyone in general had good grade/essays/etc., and the second paragraph telling you not to question their decision because they carefully reviewed all of them.

Cornell’s ed acceptance kind of sucked. I was hoping for a musical letter, or some other gimmic that I could keep as a keep sake. No, it was a thin envelope with 3 pieces of paper. A generic acceptance letter. Congrats XXXX, we are glad to accept you. Gimme your money. Then a deposit slip asking for 400 bucks.

I think I remember Boston College’s rejection letter being kind of nice. I didn’t like Georgetown’s (well I didn’t like any of them). Theirs apologized that accepting me was not even a possibility or something like that. It made it seem like me even applying there was completely outlandish.

boakoa- thank you for getting me. I’ll admit, though, that my situation is not as bad as yours because I made the EA deadline for my top choice, so I don’t have to wait as long as you.

Just remember that no matter when you find out, you still have to complete senior year so I doesn’t really matter- ahah- idk if tht;ll help… but that’s my two cents

I was expecting the vanderbilt ed mail so when I looked at the mailbox and nothing was sticking out said oh no. Then I looked and there it was, a thin envelope that said “We have no dought that you would succeed in our University but due to the volume of applications we cannot offer you admission to the class of 2013”

All my acceptences were just folders with scholarship info and online deposit link.

Villanova’s was online and they actually made me feel proud to be admitted EA.

I skipped to the end after reading 3 pages, so forgive me if this has already been mentioned. While not a letter, University of Georgia allowed Early Action applicants to go online Decemer 12th to learn their admisson status. Those accepted where greeted with a fireworks display when they clicked on the status page.

All my acceptance letters sucked. One from my local state school just had “congratulations blah blah” it was a thin envelope with only a little info like housing and stuff. My Syracuse one wasn’t that great either. It was in a big envelope but super thin. It didn’t even have scholarship info because they send that seperately. Then they put in the bill.

Seattle U’s first paragraph was pretty funny to me:

Thank you for your application for admission. Seattle University seeks an academically strong, well-rounded and diverse student body. The Admissions Committee has reviewed your credentials and believes you would make a positive addition to our campus. Additionally, we admired your self-reflective essay discussing how watching Frazier made you take comfort in being distinctive. Therefore it is my pleasure to offer you acceptance for the Fall Quarter 2009 to pursue the Premajor Studies Program in the College of Arts and Sciences.

I noticed that they misspelled “Frasier” and took forever to say that I was accepted lol. It doesn’t matter though because I’m super excited to go there.

great thread - I read almost all of it, and it was almost as good as getting letters myself.

I am a little bit depressed now though…

…I only applied to three schools, and all three are ivies (no, i’m not that stupid or arrogant : I have already been accepted at my “safety” school here in switzerland)… but still: that means only three letters and probably all rejection letters…

…sigh. I’ll just keep reading all of your acc./rej. letters that’s ok, too.

sev1991, I feel the same. I’m not applying tothe Ivies, but the schools I am applying to are really selective anyway.
and since I started my application process in late November, well. I guess i’ll be seeing a lot of those rejection letter.

Mercyhurst’s acceptance letter came in a fancy green folder. It had a certificate of acceptance with the school’s seal in gold on it. It even had the dean’s signature on it. The letter started talking about the core values and their principles; and the second talked about how i was an embodiment of them. The school knows how to accept in style. i wonder how they reject people.
