Well when I applied in high school, UC Riverside sent me a popup book when they accepted me, which was pretty sick. It almost made me forget that I was never gonna go there!

This one was for graduate admissions.

</some>

Apparently, UC Davis wasn’t content with rejecting me just once.

Danny
University of California, Berkeley

^ I got rejected 3 times by one of my UK schools - once in person, once in a letter and once on UCAS.

The first sentence of UW-Madison’s rejection is “We know you were hoping for different news.”

It was like a slap in the face.

American’s e-mail admission is kind of frustrating.

*Dear Jay,

Congratulations!

You’ve been admitted to American University.

Watch your mail. You will soon be receiving important information on what happens next.

I would like to invite you to join AULink, our social networking site exclusively for admitted freshmen and look forward to seeing you at one of our many admitted student events.

Congratulations again,

Greg Grauman
Director of Admissions
American University*

It’s short and sweet but…having to wait after this for mail is just infuriating! XD

Best acceptance letter was Clarkson University. When I opened it, it played the Clarkson fight song and then cheered, “Welcome to Clarkson!” It felt very celebratory!

UCSD’s rejection was kinda like, that’s it?

"Thank you for logging in to the UC San Diego application status site for Fall Quarter 2010 undergraduate applicants. We have carefully reviewed your application and regret that we are unable to offer you admission to the University of California, San Diego. The selection process was very difficult this year due to a record number of highly competitive applicants.

Information regarding our selection process is available through these Frequently Asked Questions.

For further information regarding the admissions selection process, you may call 858-822-0790. We wish you continued success in your educational endeavors. "

Short and simple I guess. But I’m still kinda disappointed.

So now I learn that you can definitley judge a college admissions letter by it’s cover, next year should be fun =D

This is not an acceptance letter, but rather a scholarship offer …

High Point University sends out a large specially printed box in their colors filled with purple shredded confetti and an 8 ounce gold box of Godiva chocolate wrapped in a purple printed HPU ribbon. Oh, and the scholarship award letter.

^ good lord.

USC’s acceptance is exciting, without being flashy. It’s simple red folder with the seal of the uni on the cover and “Welcome to the Trojan Family” printed in white. On the inside is a certificate, a letter, housing info, and a brochure of the uni. Somehow the scholarship letter 1 week later was more exciting because DHL notified me of where it was in the world as it arrived.

UCLA’s rejection letter is SUPER practical. It runs along the lines of: “Sorry, we’re UCLA and we get 57’000 applicants. Plus if you’re out of state, it just wasn’t gonna happen.”

^did you apply with scholarship consideration (Dec 1 deadline) for USC? And when did you get the notice? I’m absolutely dying to hear from USC.

^ I could be wrong, but I’m pretty sure that USC already sent all of its scholarship offers back in January/February with its first wave of acceptances… and my friend was there last week for the scholarship interview. So I think that if you haven’t gotten one by now, it means you’re not getting a scholarship, but you definitely still might be admitted.

I nearly threw away Swat’s early write cause I thought it was yet another letter about financial aid which I’d already answered. It was really nice though. Some excerpts:

“Normally, admissions letters are mailed in late March, but in your case, we wanted you to know early. The Admissions Committee was most impressed with your application. Your strength as a student and your exceptional intellectual and personal qualities made you stand out among several thousand applicants to the College”

“I am excited to imagine the wonderful impact you will have on the life of the College. We believe your contribution as a member of the Swarthmore community will be a distinctive one.”

I felt very loved especially because I wasn’t expecting anything for a few weeks. =)

my d’s friend had her interview as well…

fuzzyfirebunny: I know I’m not getting a scholarship because I applied for the regular deadline (Jan 11) I’m just anxious to know if I got in at all or not. haha.

For the University of Miami you find out online first. The very first letters you read
“Welcome to the UM Family!”
"Congratulations! You have been admitted to the University of Miami!

You will join the most talented and competitive class in UM’s history as you begin the next phase of your academic journey. We are confident that you will make a valuable contribution to the University’s tradition of scholarship and excellence."

And the actual letter comes with a Bumper Sticker that says “My child is a Miami Hurricane”

Plus the scholarship notice isnt that bad either

UCSD’s acceptance letter was cool. “On behalf of the faculty, staff, and students of the University of California, San Diego – congratulations on your admission to …as a major in …!”

UCI’s had a less then stellar acceptance; just “congratulations” and “You have been admitted to UC Irvine!” in gaudy fancy font. Ah well, its still an acceptance.

UCLA sent me a long letter, which, long story short, really meant “You’re not good enough to be a Bruin”

Mount Hoyloke acceptance letter was pretty sweet. I was so proud when I was reading it. But then, their acceptance package was even better. A black folder with some brochures, the FA offer, the acceptance letter and the deposit check.

I received the UCLA “package” today and found a cool bumper sticker. If you hold up the congratulatory letter there’s like a hidden message, I think. It may just be me : )
