Attention all of you CC over-achievers! With the coming of a new year comes a new season of Beta Club projects at my school, and since I’m the person in charge, I have to come up with the ideas. Alas, I have none. Would anyone please bestow upon me a share of knowledge concerning what projects to pursue and even how to find projects to pursue?

why the **** are you in charge

Indeed! I second that, fae!

Anyway, sorry to be judgmental, svrone. Here’s an idea that’s really fun if you have class rivalry at your high school. Pick a charitable organization in your area (Food Bank, etc.) Have a fundraiser with a twist:
- Make 4 collection bins/containers, one for each grade level. Put them all next to each other.

Tell each grade to put the donations into their bins (cans if it’s the Food Bank, $ if it’s for money donations. $ works better in this contest.)

The twist: Each donation is worth a certain number of points for the grade. Change is worth its monetary value – that many points (for Food Bank, small cans of relatively cheaper, less-needed food are worth .25 or .10 or .05 points). But bills (1, 5, 20, or expensive cans of good food like meat or baby formula) deduct points. So if a grade brought in 500 pennies, they’d have 5 points. But here’s the awesome part. Encourage every grade to sabotage the other grades by putting bills/big cans into their bins so that they lose points! So the 5-point grade can lose 5 points if another grade puts a $5 bill into their bin. And in the end, the organization rakes in all the dough/food. This encourages people to donate more, ahem, generously!

Try to make it a spirit event as well as a Beta project. It’s really fun. It works well because all those pennies add up.

^ and what do you get if you win?

I don’t know, perhaps a free-dress day if you have uniforms or relaxed dress code day if not. What rewards does your school usually offer for spirit contestS?

Perhaps I’m out of ideas because I’ve already exhausted the good ones? I’d done this for an awfully long time.

jimbob, I’ve already done that sort of thing, but thanks anyways.

My point in making this post was to find something FRESH and ORIGINAL, not something trite like spirit week or class rivalry games. I happen to take my job seriously.

Wow. That is a brillian idea!

Sheesh, I’m sorry
I take Beta seriously too…sorry if my idea isn’t interesting to you :(

Well, how about peer tutoring for students at your high school? Beta Club members make handy tutors.
