Beware Papyrus “glitter” paper

I thought I’d splurge on this beautiful Papyrus brand wrapping paper - $10 a roll but I thought it would look so nice - I got two gold rolls and one green, All with glitter elements.

Well it’s practically unusable as wrapping paper. Forget the fact that it sheds glitter (aka craft herpes) everywhere, you can’t tape it - regular Scotch tape doesn’t hold it down. Going to have to use duct tape (isn’t that festive?) Hope I can return it tomorrow and get my money back.

a dab of glue?

Glue gun?

I’d return it. No one wants loose glitter coming into their house. :frowning:

Love the craft herpes line!

Our chorus used to have a “glittery” costume. I loved that thing but it left glitter everywhere you went.
Our chosen word was “fairy dust” !

Yea, I am not a fan of glitter everywhere. It is pretty but sure messy. Fortunately we tend not to have much glitter in our lives.

That’s strange. I never had a problem with their gift wrap.

Pine needles everywhere are bad enough.

NEVER put loose glitter, small metallic shapes in a card- any occasion. Makes an unexpected mess when opened, not at all appreciated.

I just bought some NON-glitter paper for a good price at Ross. We bought 100 square feet for $4, plus a lot of tissue paper for $6. That should be enough for me to finish my wrapping and the kids to do what they want in terms of wrapping. The kids always expect enough supplies from the wrapping paper elves to magically appear when they want it.

@raclut – you’ve never had a problem with their paper but have you specifically bought the kind that is thick and heavy and encrusted with glitter?

Update: brought it to the Walgreen’s where I bought it – they wouldn’t take it back or let me exchange it. Why not? “Cause you dun cut it!” How else am I supposed to use it? I’m writing to Papyrus. Sucky customer service.

That’s when you have to talk to the manager…or was it the manager who told you that you “dun cut it”?

Walgreens corporate customer service would probably like to know about your experience - and the fact that you are disappointed with the product and with the associate. When you explain that you only wanted to exchange it as it was defective and not able to be used the way it was described to you, they would look at this as an opportunity to retrain their customer service staff. You shouldn’t have to call to complain but it can be effective, and this sounds like an excellent example that could be used for other training purposes on how to make it right, and how to retain a customer.

@CTmom2018 – it was the manager :frowning:

@3puppies – in a perfect world, yes. I’ll try it but do not have much hope.

When I’ve had problems with big corps, I’ve found you will quickly get assistance if you post a complaint on their facebook page.

I buy my wrap directly from the Papyrus store on sale in fact that is all that I have at home. I have been very happy with the quality of the products I have purchased there and have bought wrap with glitter on it and have not have had any problems. Try calling Papyrus customer service and mention the issue that you have had. As mentioned before I buy directly from Papyrus so that if there are any issues I can deal directly with them. I have never gone to Walgreens so I don’t know their store policies.

@doschicos that may be the one and only reason I finally get on Facebook

My mother taught us how to wrap without tape, btw. Fold same as usual, but secure the wrapping via the ribbon. We’re a family that’s always misplacing tape rolls.

No solution to offer, though, for flying glitter.

Oh my. :open_mouth:
