Has anybody heard from Boston University or U Mich yet? Its been over a month and I’ve heard nothing.
Hopefully you have heard back from the other schools. But getting a no thank you from one doesn’t mean you will also get a no thank you from the other 2. My daughter also got a no thank you from Carnegie Mellon, but passed U Mich, she did not apply to BU. Keep your head up, there is a school out there just for you!

Can i ask when she heard back from U Mich? I still havent heard back from them.
S21 who just graduated from UNCSA didnt make it through the prescreen for Carnegie or weirdly U Hart but wound up with many acceptances in addition to UNCSA. Prescreens are weird!

Son just heard back from Boston moments ago. Passed the prescreens. Finally.
Still waiting to hear from USC, UCLA, and Purchase.
My daughter hasn’t heard from BU or UMICH either , also not NYU. She’s passed most of her other ones. Purchase, Syracuse, UConn, Elon, DePaul, Rutgers. MICH she is going for directing, UNCSA she is also going for acting and directing. Feels like she should hear soon, why sooooo late?

I know we are still waiting to hear from Purchase. So annoying.

My dd hopes to enter 2026 as a Freshman but technically she’s a transfer because, after one year at a BA program, did 4 plays, got the lay of the land, she realized she wanted much more training, classes and opportunities . She figured this out in August and took a break from her liberal arts school to do a training program first semester this year. Shes been focusing on a lot of directing, some great scenes study and doing some writing (mostly comedic) also which she really thinks she has a strong ability growing. We are in Chicago, so she’s wringing comedy and doing improv too. She’s applying for 20 Acting BFAs 2 directing BFAs . Some schools have totally different timelines for transfers. Anyone out there have advice for admissions in particular, for transfers? How about for actors who write or direct or create?? Thank you all!! Appreciate the wisdom of my peers and elders (lol). Kate
Still waiting. Chicago unifieds are a few weeks away. Some of these schools are just really cutting it close. We got all our applications in by mid October and still… such a long wait.

Hey, did your daughter hear from U mich yet?
Well, she heard that she is not allowed, as a transfer student, to try out for both acting and directing BFAs. She wrote a letter to challenge that policy but I had to pick one and so she went for directing. Since then, I don’t think she’s heard back. UNCSA is allowing her to try for both.

Hi, new to this forum, I just got my final prescreen back and wanted to see what people thought of this pass to fail rate. I’m kinda worried as I passed a majority of my schools, but was rejected from the bigger ones. I’m only worried, because is this a sign I might be in the wrong line of work? Obviously I’ve faced rejection before in acting, I’m just worried being rejected from really good programs might be a sign?

I got accpected into SCAD, and I still have to audition for UNCSA and Juilliard. Obviously I’m not letting this dishearten me for the rest of my auditons. I just have to remind myself that I just may not. be the look they’re going for, or I’m not what they need right now. I just wanted to see if this ratio was pretty normal?
I have posted this before but many many times passing a prescreen has nothing to do with your abilities but rather institutional priorities and “filling a slot.” My S21 who went to UNCSA failed prescreens for CMU, BU and shockingly U Hart. He was accepted to NYU, Emerson, Pace, and Fordham along with UNCSA. Dont worry about the why for the rejections!
