Grave of the Fireflies (1988)

Yes, how could I forget this one. I’m ready to sob now!

I will not going to be able to watch Sophie’s Choice. Ever.

Grave of the Fireflies (1988)

Yes, how could I forget this one. I’m ready to sob now!

I will not going to be able to watch Sophie’s Choice. Ever.

^Me too, having read the book, I’ve made a point of not watching Sophie’s Choice.

I had forgotten about Iron Giant. Definite animated tearjerker…“I am not a gun!”

"Mr. Holland’s Opus "

Oh yes. This is a 5 star weep for me. I start puddling before it even gets to the part which caused me to weep the first time I saw it.

‘Big Fish’

I don’t think I’ve seen it listed here, but it made me cry more than any other movie I’ve seen. I sobbed during the movie and all the way home. It’s not uncommon for me to shed a tear or two during a movie or even a sappy commercial (Hallmark commercial where lady sends her elderly neighbor a card … don’t google it if you don’t want to cry).

I’m more likely to cry over animals so my sob fests were during Marley & Me, My Dog Skip, Wild Hearts Can’t be Broken, Homeward Bound, and I have never been able to get through Black Beauty. Even though I thought The Horse Whisperer was a terrible movie, there were parts in which I cried uncontrollably.

Toy Story 3 when they’re about to be incinerated.

I read Sophie’s Choice, but went to see it anyway because I love Meryl. ( but didn’t see Bridges)
I don’t usually go to see sad romantic movies, so I haven’t seen The Notebook, A walk to remember, P.S. I love you, et.al. ( although I think Love Story, was one of the first movies that made me cry, I was 13)
I also didn’t see The Lovely Bones or Bridge to Teribithia, although I read the books.
I haven’t seen Big Fish, as I think it would be too sad. ( my dad died when he was in his early 40’s) Just hearing Man of the hour live, is enough to make tears well up. Same with Dead Man Walking and Into the Wild.
Emotional films, and adding Eddies expressive voice to the sound track brings that out, imo.

I also think that seeing anything with Robin Williams, especially if it is already touching, like Dead Poets Society, would make me cry.
Also Mask, Children of Men, the Perfect Storm, & The Deep End.
Seeing Love Actually, with Liam Neeson playing a widower also makes me cry now.
:((

I’ll add Four Weddings and a Funeral to my list.

ooh animals…I had to turn off Marley and Me when I realized how it was heading.

Movies are bad enough…now so many of the Facebook videos about mistreated animals is another source.

And, yesterday was a cry-fest once I saw that the “Bucket List Baby” (Baby Shane) was born early Thursday morning and he died 4 hours later.

I read Marley and Me first and cried and wept through the last 1/2 hour of the movie.

I find crying during movies is very cathartic.

Confession here. I still cry every time Mulan reaches the top of the pole! My kids find it highly amusing.

Oh, yea. “The Perfect Storm”. Agreed.

I wouldn’t call Hunger Games a tear-jerker movie, but I get misty at the scene where Rue dies, and Katniss makes her a bier of flowers and then salutes District 11.

Harold and Maude

The teariest minute of any movie for me is when Montgomery Clift (Pruitt) plays taps during “From Here to Eternity.”. But I started getting teary easily - like at Hallmark commercials - while I was pregnant, and 20 years later I’m still at it.

I pretty much cry all the way through Harold and Maud every time

“I also didn’t see The Lovely Bones or Bridge to Teribithia, although I read the books.”

I read the The Lovely Bones book a few years before the movie. I cried so much during the book that I never saw the movie.

I cry just thinking about Sophie’s Choice

Remember the Titans
