I’m a big fan of this show! Such an interesting and unique premise! It is the one show my S23 and I would watch together. Unfortunately, not all of Season 4 was dropped while he was home over break. (He’s a freshman at Purdue, deciding betw aerospace or mechanical engineering but definitely plans to go into the aerospace industry so it was really fun to watch with him!)

Another Australian show I liked was Offspring. It’s a bit older (2012-2017-ish), family drama. Kind of similar to Parenthood but less drama and more of the Australian humor. It’s on Hulu.

We liked getting to know the characters over 3 seasons of “Trying”. Looking on google, it seems like there might be a season 4 coming someday.

Also started watching Trying because of the recommendation here, especially the comparison to Ted Lasso. I like it so far, although my like went down a little when they were cleaning their apartment for the visit by the adoption agent. The mess / trash seemed a little excessive for their characters. Nit picking, i know. I like recognIzing various actors from other shows, including Dr. Sharon from Ted Lasso.

On Britbox, latest season of Death in Paradise launches on Feb. 15, newest (and last, I’ve read) season of Vera on Feb. 28.
If your cable system has the Ovation channel, newest season of Murdoch Mysteries debuts either the first or second Saturday in February.

ITV confirmed last week that there will be another season of Vera.
I’m also quite enjoying Scott & Bailey on Britbox: “Rachel Bailey and Janet Scott are two detective constables working for DCI Gill Murray on the Manchester Metropolitan Police’s Major Incident Team.”

Brenda Blethyn had said she didn’t want to continue because she’s 77 but might the producers have shot Season 14 right after S13?
I must say she looked pretty tired in the last episode (“salt&vinagar” - the chippie, which is a shop that specializes in “chips” ie. large French fries served with vinegar with or without fried haddock/cod/…)
No. ITV said it hasn’t started filming.
I’m a bit surprised it’s continuing given Brenda’s age. On the flip side, the casting change for Season 13 seemed rather pointless if it was just for 3 episodes (I assume US viewers will see it packaged as 4 episodes with the Christmas Special).

OR–could they do what they did with Shetland, cast a new lead? But how could you call the show Vera without Vera???
Exactly … there can’t be a show titled VERA without Vera/Brenda Blethyn…
And this show is not called Northern England Crimes 
I was skeptical wrt Shetland but it turned out well. The fact the island always had such a presence in the show’s identity certainly helped. Plus I liked Tosh (no equivalent on the Vera team).

Ha, I’m watching that episode of Trying now. “We have four hours to make this flat suitable for a child.” I don’t find it unbelievable. I’m not always the best at keeping things picked up. One time a visitor remarked on how messy things were.
I like the show more and more. Nikki and Jason remind me a little of my husband and me. Flawed but happy together.

Phoebe from Ted Lasso has a brief appearance in Season Three (I’m not done, so she could show up again, I guess.)
H and I watched Fool Me Once on Netflix. I would say it was good enough for us to finish up the 8 episodes, but nothing great.

Just finished Deadloch and it was absolutely insane. The only thing I didn’t like was Dulce’s wife. She reminded me of a ■■■■■ doll so I found their relationship unbelievable even though the whole show was over the top. I really liked Dulce’s deadpan quips and her timing was impeccable. The actress who plays her is great.
The blacked out word is something we can’t do or call each other here on CC.
