Binge watched tv shows (Part 1)

I really enjoy So Help me Todd - you can watch while doing something else, it’s never scary nor gory (not really), it’s very light and often hangs by a thread but the actors are excellent. I see it more as a comedy than a drama even though it’s 42mn so I’m 100% onboard with it not trying to be Happy Valley.

I also like So Help me todd. It is fun as they are supposedly living in Oregon and that is where I live.

I had the same reaction to the breakups - I wonder if we saw them the same way. I think there will be one, maybe two, actual marriages.

I have started/binged two shows lately. One that I think is good/intriguing (Bodies) and one that is the guiltiest of guilty pleasures that most people would probably HATE (Blue Mountain State- reaching way back on that one).

Bodies is a mystery where cops in four different time periods are investigating the murder of the same exact man- who shows up in each time line.

Blue Mountain State is horrible and outlandish and offensive in an American Pie kind of way, but it makes me laugh out loud at least once per episode so I’ll take it.

So we watched Bodies a few month ago. It was different, for sure. We stuck with all 4 episodes because somewhat intrigued (and out of other good options at the time).

Just adding Lincoln Lawyer, since I didn’t see it on the list.

Watching death and other details now, with Mandy Patinkin. It’s twisty and kinda campy in a glass onion kind of way.

For folks out there with Comcast, Starz is free starting today, until Sunday.

Already started binging the most recent season of Outlander.

Seen that one too, but keep good ones like this coming!

Just binged the two seasons of Welcome to Wrexham on Hulu—the “documentary” of Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney buying a soccer team in Wales. It was really good. A great mix of stories about the town, the fans, the players, the team, the game, the business. Very well done—right touches of humor, drama, compassion, action, suspense. Can’t wait for season 3 which I heard is coming out in April.

Much, much more than a show about a soccer team. The pieces on the community are just as interesting as the soccer stuff. Wife who has no interest in soccer at all got hooked and watched every episode with me. Some of it is heartbreaking.

I’ve watched some of it with my soccer loving husband and enjoyed it.

I agree. Ryan and Rob are so likable, and the impact their investment is having on that town/community is inspiring.

I’m really enjoying Fisk on Netflix. I hope there’s a Season 3. Funny, light, workplace comedy from Australia.

Yes, she reminds me of myself in some respects. Definitely the hair, ha.

Exactly! And the side stories are so well told—handled with such grace and dignity. I really appreciated that they weren’t exploiting anyone nor was anyone trying to get more camera time—everyone seemed very genuine. I hope they are able to maintain that.

Some of her attitude definitely feels familiar. The scene about signing the work birthday card in the last episode could have been a recording of my thoughts in a similar situation.

Finished season two of The Tourist on Netflix. Strange as it was- we liked it.

Has anyone started watching Regime? It’s an HBO 6-episode series starring Kate Winslet as the weirdly authoritarian Chancellor of an unnamed Central European country. There are two episodes so far. I keep thinking I’m missing something because the friend who recommended it really likes it and I almost always agree with her assessments. This series isn’t quite doing it for me.

I tried. Couldn’t even get all the way through the first episode. Just didn’t hold my interest.
