Binge watched tv shows (Part 1)

We just finished Season 2 of Resident Alien. What a wild a crazy ride! Can’t wait to see what happens next.

I feel the same way about a Spanish show we are watching called Paraiso. Hair styles and clothing all seem fine for today. Nowadays there would probably be more tattoos.

I love Resident Alien. Dark humor but good heart.

We are watching Apples Never Fall and man, is it ever draggy. Sheesh.

I’ll start Queenie (Hulu) this weekend.

Draggy?

I’m loving Hacks!! Almost finished with Season 1. Thank you to the person here who recommended it.

W and I are 4 episodes into Resident Alien. Although there’s mystery, drama, it’s simply laugh out funny. Great cast.

I recently watched two seasons of Resident Alien. I enjoyed it but have to be in the mood for that type humor.

I’m considering rewatching a Handmaid’s Tale because I have free Hulu for 30 days. I’m currently watching The Bear while I have Hulu access.

I loved both of those.

I think it could have fewer episodes, yes. But, it’s good, don’t get me wrong.

We are watching Band of Brothers now that it’s available on Netflix (and in preparation for our trip to Normandy this fall). And can I just say, wow. Super impressive and an excellent cast - so many actors who were unknown when it was filmed over 20 years ago who have gone on to achieve more fame and recognition. Highly recommend this, especially on the 80th anniversary of D-Day.

Our guide at Normandy, who had actually gotten to know some of the soldiers, said he thought “Band of Brothers” was very well done.

Also check out The Longest Day, notable because it was filled where the events actually happened–on the beaches, Point du Hoc, etc. It was groundbreaking in 1962 because the French spoke French, Germans spoke German, etc–I guess that wasn’t done at that time.

Plus it’s fun to pick out all the 60s British and American actors (there are lots of them) in the cast. I usually skip the end, where John Wayne chews up the scenery playing someone who was actually quick a bit younger than the Duke at the time (“sir, you have a compound fracture of your leg!! Just pull my bootlaces a bit tighter!!!”)

We watched this and the Longest Day before we went to Normandy. Was great background - helped us appreciate what we saw there much more. You can also see the memorial to the Band of Brothers, the manor and much much more while you are there and it is great to relate that to what you saw on the show.

DH and I saw Stephen Merchant on Stephen Colbert and really enjoyed the interview. We decided to check out The Outlaws and started binging it. We really like it. There are 3 seasons available now.

Just finished Season 3. The humor is more adult &still quite dark but there are some really happy moments. It feels a bit unfinished but I hear they’re shooting Season 4 (or are done shooting?)
CollegeConfidential specific: I hope Rani ends up at Oxford ultimately though I’m afraid of what she’d do there. :grimacing:

We both like The Outlaws. It’s been fun noticing the actors on other programs too.

I’m watching “Trying” now. I don’t like the current season as much as the previous ones, but it’s OK.
