Binge watched tv shows (Part 1)

IMO, New Amsterdam is one of those shows best watched on Binge, as things get sort of confusing and you have to remembers who is who from week to week. IIRC, I was watching before the last season dropped and I had to go back and rewatch quite a bit of it to figure out what was happening.

No choice but to binge since it will be gone by 1/15!

We binge watched the first season of Lost over the holidays. Only 5 more soasons to go!

We started and finished Shrinking over the last week or so. Not sure why I missed it until now.

We are rationing the Shrinking Season 2 episodes. It is sometimes a bit crude, but oh so funny and touching too.

I love Shrinking! It wasn’t until several episodes in that I discovered that Derek is played by Ted McGinley (Ace on The Love Boat and nearly 100 other roles, most of which I apparently missed!)

Just a caution that Lost started out wonderful but generally it’s agreed that it veered badly off course in Season 4. And let’s just say that it does not make the lists of best series finales. So if at some point you start getting confused or annoyed, best to end there.

I saw Lost when it originally aired and loved it, even the ending!
It is not new to me and I am enjoying revisiting it. But, of course , some of the seaons/episodes in a 6 season show are not as interesting as others.

Just finished binging season 2 of Ted Lasso on free Apple Plus this weekend. Had hoped to do seasons 2 and 3 until we found out they each had TWELVE episodes!

Also watched first season of Schmigadoon, only 6 episodes there.

I’m currently watching Mr. Selfridge on Prime. 2 seasons. First is free, then the 2nd I had to do a free PBS week trial. It’s only 10 episodes, so I’ll binge it and cancel.

It’s loosely based on Mr. Selfridge, the founder of the department store in London. Fun series.

Season 28 (has it really been that long) of Silent Witness started today in the UK. No word on when it will be available on Britbox

DH and I are enjoying ā€œBlack Doves.ā€ It really keeps our attention!

Enjoyed Black Doves - although I’d read somewhere it was partly comedy and I don’t see it as a comedy, despite some lines and moments staged for humour. It’s a spy thriller, excellent actors, a bit sad, gorgeous views of London.

I do appreciate the occasionally moments of humor. ā€œSiloā€ has NOTHING humorous. I’m going to keep watching it, but it’s kind of tough.

Yes, I appreciate the humor. It doesn’t make the series a comedy but it does make it less grim. :grinning: Slow Horses does it better (and Alias remains unmatched for ā€œnormal life inserts itself into spy lifeā€)

We watched one episode of Black Doves last night. Will likely watch another today.
We tried season 2 of Silo, but the first episode didn’t hold our interest at all. I don’t know if we will try another or not.

Sigh. Yet another season of cast changes. Other than Jack & Nikki, everyone is new.

Yeah, I don’t think I would recommend it. I’m going to finish season 2 just to find out what happens, but it’s not that great.

Not sure how widespread this is, but one of the perks of donating to our local public broadcasting is access to the PBS app. I see four seasons out there. I’ll have to check it out. I keep forgetting I have access. Haven’t watched anything there since Little Bird and Mr B ates vs the Post Office. (Recommend both, by the way.)
