I stumbled upon Son of a Critch while on the treadmill. Great for when you want a feel good moment and don’t want to get sucked into a long show you need to keep up with. You can leave it for a long time, come back to it, and still know exactly what’s going on. It’s the kind of show I want to watch while wrapping presents or folding laundry.
Season 4 of the Lincoln Lawyer doesn’t have a release date yet–possibly the end of 2025 or early 2026.
???
The blond woman (I’m calling a Karen and perhaps too harsh on this) the Pradeeps have issues with. Her accent and speech pattern just IMHO does not fit Pittsburgh (where I was raised). I did however spent many years of my adult life in Texas and she seems to fit TX more than PA. Not a negative thing, just did not fit in my mind.
Sounds like you just described Detectorists! Just the Johnny Flynn acoustic soundtrack lowers your blood pressure several points.
more likely early to mid 2026
Castle was tons of fun, but the first few seasons are definitely the best.
I miss The Detectorists. We had such fun in England when little museums had displays of the finds of local detectorists.
We thought the coolest gallery at the British Museum was the Anglo-Saxon collection. There was the Sutton Hoo find, along with lots of finds purchased from detectorists, as opposed to all the flasher stuff from Egypt, etc. that were stolen. They even stole one of the figures from Easter Island!
I saw there was a “new series” aka new season of ANNIKA on BBC1 and got all excited because the previous season ended on a real cliffhanger.. then .... turns out it’s not Season 3 but the same Season 2 that was broadcast ~ 2 years ago.
Love Etoile, and I am not a ballet or dance fan. The music, acting, dialogue- everything is at least very good. More farce than comedy, but it’s not forced, and feels very realistic. The actor who plays Cheyenne is incredible. A completely impossible person who you put up with because of her talent.
Finished Leanne. I really liked it. I don’t know whether being Southern makes a difference but maybe. I know people like her and her family.
I also binged the documentary about The Biggest Loser, which is weird because I never once watched that show when it was on. Man, Jillian Michaels looked bad here, and the show seemed pretty awful, though I get the reality TV appeal, I guess.
Started watching “ The Hunting Wives” on Netflix. Definitely trashy, but fun.
Recently watched Mrs Maisel, Leanne, and Stick.
Just finished Stick tonight. I really enjoyed this show! Thank you for recommending it
I’m almost done with the first season of Shrinking. Harrison Ford is so great in this show.
I was bored last night so started watching the kdrama Bon Appétit, Your Majesty on Netflix and blew through the first two episodes. Tons of fun! I gather many of the actors are well known in the genre. It’s a time traveling rom com involving a Michelin level chef. The cooking scenes are great as the chef starts explaining the chemistry behind the ingredients, and beautifully filmed.
And I recently watched KPop Demon Hunters also on Netflix; movie not series. But apparently the hottest show ever so I feel very with it.
Did you like the movie? Ive been considering watching it.
Just stumbled upon this thread! Always in the need of another show.
DH and I just started Platonic with Seth Rogan and Rose Byrne. We are loling throughout, but we like that sense of humor.
It’s certainly watchable; my anime loving son suggested it for me. I can take or leave the music but it was catchy, the animation was good, and there was a decent message. There’s a Japanese anime film called Belle that I liked better; I think it’s on HBO and maybe others.
