Binge watched tv shows (Part 2)

Looking forward to “early 2026” (as it’s known in all of the press releases). I’d just like some firmer dates as to when that is.

The Testaments (Handmaid’s Tale sequel. I read the book)
Silo season 3
Paradise season 2

Ooh, looking forward to The Testaments and Paradise season 2.

Here’s hoping Hulu has the $.99/month deal again this November. If anyone sees it, please post!

H and I watched the first two episodes of the new season of the Diplomat last night and we are really enjoying it.

My favorite season - saving the finale for tonight.

Good to hear. We loved the first two, but I got a little hmmm about episode three. Felt the direction was disappointing after the end of 2, but I’ll wait to see where it goes.

I watched all but the finale last night. H fell asleep during, so he needs to rewatch the second to last before WE watch finale, or he will be stopping it every 5 minutes asking questions :).

Watched ‘old dog new tricks’ on Netflix. Takes place in Spain with subtitles. Really liked the 9 episodes. I thought the acting was very well done.

I just watched the first episode of Task (HBO). Looks good. Mark Ruffalo as an FBI agent in (I think) rural PA. Parallel complicated family stories plus some blood and guts.

Just finished Season 3 of The Diplomat.

Fantastic.

Riot Women is on Britbox today!

Note: the show begins with desperation leading to suicide - one methodical, the other chaotic, involving alcohol&the police.
Not a spoiler: they’re the main characters so you know they survive - but a warning: both scenes are difficult.

The 4 older actresses really play their instruments and it’s really them playing the disjointed version of Waterloo when they’re starting to learn.
Rosalie Craig is a West End star and you can hear it

Also, a number at the end of episode 3 will make you reconsider what you’ve seen and what you know about Kitty.

SPOILER VIDEO
DO NOT WATCH until you’ve seen the first episode. The song is Violet for those of you who might remember grunge.

In the Philly area we are laughing at the “rural” description. Delco is most decidedly NOT rural, but blue collar suburb of the city. But I can’t wait to watch this series, I have heard good things. (Not laughing at you oldmom! At the media describing the show this way)

We are also catching up on The Gilded Age, which I am loving for the costumes and such.

Good but extremely intense. I will alternate episodes with Nobody Wants This and Gray’s Anatomy (which I never watched before!), much fluffier.

Finished it today! I love that the episodes are only a half-hour. Makes it such an easy watch.

I’m finally done with seasons 1-9 of Chicago Med! :tada::tada: A bit more catching up, and I will be up to speed!

Had to LOL at how SeaTac airport was portrayed in one episode. We don’t have a Terminal 3,‘and Space Needle is not towering above the airport! :joy:

Finishing Season 1 of The Diplomat, when they’re frantically trying to avoid an armed conflict. The British PM, a Boris Johnson simile, really wants to bomb something to prove he’s masculine and decisive.
Pretty sure it rings quite differently today than it did when it was written a couple years ago.

We watched multiple episodes of Nobody Wants This last night. Not sure how many are in the season, but after the day we’ve had, we may just veg and binge watch the rest.
