Is that the one with John Hamm? I would agree with it being a drama, not a dark comedy.
@1214mom -yes!
Watched new season of A Man on the Inside. Fast, nice, easy watch. Ted Danson is charming (as always).
We are enjoying A Man on the Inside. Nice light show. Itās a comedy, but heartwarming too (with a plotline revolving arround whodunnit mystery⦠but no blood and gore). Now that there are two seasons, it would be a great time for folks with Netflix who have not yet seen the show to give it a try. In season 2, the cast includes Ted Dansonās real life wife Mary Steenburgen (mother in Joan of Arcadia).
Weāve watched two episodes - Ted Danson and Mary Steenburgen are indeed delightful. But we preferred season one because we want to concentrate on him/them, not the PI.
I like all the women in Man on the Inside. His daughter, his boss, the head of the assisted living community, the bossā right hand woman, the administrator at the college. They are all three dimensional and intelligent. And funny.
I see your point. I do like it that they do have some scenes back at the assisted living community. Hoping there will be a few scenes with more of the residents.
I never watched āThe Sopranosā before, but now Iām diving into it. DH says he doesnāt like the violence, but he tends to watch whenever he comes into the room. I have to keep catching him up on what happens! I just love seeing Edie Falco, after watching her in āNurse Jackie.ā What an awesome actress she is.
Iām halfway thru the first season of Landman and find it Lacking. I donāt think the storyline is great, the wife and daughter drive me nuts and too over the top, and although I typically couldnāt care less about cussing, the F~bomb is overused. I think Iāll let my husband continue it after i go to bed. I loved Yellowstone and its prequels, so had high hopes for another Taylor Sheridan show. I know Iām in the minority.
Episodes 3 and especially 4 much more enjoyable.
Iām really liking this season and laughed out loud quite a few times.
ETA: episode 7, with the ātop-secret operation Waterslideā heist, is awesome. ![]()
Finished first season of Poldark- wow really well done - onto the next season. Watching it every other night or so not to go too fast. It took a few episodes to realize that the main character was injured in the US American war for independence in the 1700ās.
I watched the first two episodes of Heated Rivalry(HBO) and loved it like I did the book. A warning for those who would want to know. itās a gay romcom and pretty explicit sexually ( as prudish person I fast forwarded during some of those scenes). But the story of two rival hockey players who get involved with each other is fun n
Iām rewatching Poldark! It really is a great show! Glad your enjoying it.
Just binged through Nobody Wants This. Mostly liked the season a lot. Very good last episode. I like what theyāre doing with the different relationship complexities. And as others have said, Kristen Bell and Adam Brody are adorable. I will say I was getting sort of fed up by one characterās stance, though Iāll stay quiet here. I think they also fleshed out Morgan, Sasha and Esther more than the first season, which was good.
I would love to know, though, how they all afford these amazing homes. I know itās TV etc, but their places all seem like rich people homesāMorganās glass architectural gem, with that pool? Really? From a podcast that she does zero work on except like an hour a weekāno marketing, no networking, etc? Really a stretch! But, anyway, like the show a lot.
We are getting sucked into McMafia. David Strathairn plays a great manipulative gangster, and it is hard reconciling that this is the same actor from the Spiderwick Chronicles. Lesson learned so far: donāt mess with the Russian mafia.
Mixed reviews on Landman. Billy Bob steals the show, and Demi Moore and Andy Garcia are great in season 2, but Ainsley and Angela are just over the top. Sheridan always includes crazy female characters in his shows.
Is anybody else watching Pluribus? Itās pretty trippy and keeps surprising me.
Iām loving it. ![]()
Trying a BritBox subscription. Weāve always enjoyed their shows shared on other streaming services (e.g. Line of Duty), but are seeking other options that are only available through BritBox that are NOT Crime Dramas. Favorites?
