We loved Ted Lasso! And also Severance, but it took me a few episodes to get into it. H liked it from the get go.
We are loving Rooster. I was never a huge The Office fan, but I like Steve Carell so much better in this. H likes it better than Ted Lasso.
DTF St. Louis is very quirky! We are enjoying the weirdness of it. I’m still not sure how this one will turn out.
We started Peaky Blinders - almost finished season 1. Again, H loved it from the get go. I’m liking it better as it goes along.
New season of Daredevil is out. We love it, especially compared to what Disney has done with the Star Wars stuff. Ok they set a very low bar with that. I do find Daredevil kinda confusing, but it’s so nice for it not to be overly silly - nor is Matt so brooding in this reboot.
New season of the Boys starts tonight. And From is coming out soon too!
We usually try to give a show at least two episodes before giving up, especially if it has been recommended to us by friends (or here). Friday Night Lights was one of our first shows watched streaming, and I almost vetoed it after first episode.
Although we typically don’t binge watch, we do sometimes watch the first two episodes of a new show back-to-back, to get in the groove of the plot and characters.
I kept telling my husband that I’m not a sports follower, didn’t want to watch a football show. But he encouraged me to stay open minded. So glad I did.
Anyone still watching Doc? I binged 19 episodes of Season 2 recently, so three more to come. And the show was renewed for Season 3, again with 22 episodes.
I need to catch up. But it’s so nice to have a relatively new show with long seasons instead of the short new shows that sont even come twice a year. So basically I also watch hoping supporting long form tv on a network channel will help other channels see it’s a GOOD thing, like “positive reinforcement for tv execs”.
For the same principle, I got back into Grey’s Anatomy recently too, although I basically recognize no one except Bailey and Amelia (and Owen whom I didn’t like before bc he almost killed Christina and who now looks like he doubled in width for some reason). But it’s an old show. Will Trent, High Potential, SVU, One Chicago are all on the same formula - you can watch or skip an episode and still be okay. I also miss The WB but that ship has sailed
Right now I’m catching up on Boarders (season 3=last term, exams - soon to be on Tubi I think) and hope to catch up on Beyond Paradise.
Not liking Scarpetta as much as I thought I would.
Yup. I am. It’s a good show. Not The Pitt, but still OK.
In addition I actually just finished binging the available seasons of the Italian series on which it was based: Doc – Nelle tue mani (Doc - in your hands), which is actually even better than the US version, IMO. At least the first and third seasons; the second season was filmed during the pandemic and the storyline went too far afield from the original premise to focus on Covid instead, but got back in track for season 3. Season 4 is supposed to come out sometime in Fall. Sorry, I have no idea what US streaming providers carry it.
I had quit after season 10, but @MYOS1634 convinced be to watch season 17 during the pandemic, which I did. Eventually, I binged the ones I missed and am now current.
I have been watching “Knife Edge: Chasing Michelin Stars” on Apple TV. Documentary on restaurants looking for Michelin stars. Each episode is on a different city that ends with the Michelin ceremony. I found the European cities more interesting.
Fun to see Grey’s Anatomy discussed. It’s been one of my exercise shows, though I had to switch to other shows when I ran out. And recently doing more podcasts etc. Just this week I jumped back in at season 21.
I keep skipping seasons and returning so this time I went from Season 18 to season 23, I think. I also recognized the nephew, whom I thought was still an intern and apparently isn’t despite looking early 20s, plus Jo and Link.
Lucas is a second-year resident. Grey’s apparently doesn’t follow the Pitt or ER method where each season is a calendar year, since he joined as an intern in season 19 and we are now on 23
I’m liking Rooster. Maybe not as much as Season 1 Ted Lasso, which I thought was the best season. I liked the Shrinking ending. I thought it was the show ending but apparently it will be back for Season 4 with a new arc. But I guess not Harrison Ford? Unless it’s one of those shows where geography is just a concept. Looking at you, This Is Us.
When discussing TIU on these forums (and elsewhere) the geography disconnect was often mentioned. Characters would travel between two distant locations in less time than it would really take to get there. Popping in from east coast to west coast for example.
