It started before the first episode, aka previously. It was about three minutes long.
All seasons brief summary.
And season 3.

Not convinced she loves him. They need to prove me wrong; she doesn’t seem to respect or even like him as a person. At least he thinks she is wonderful despite her flaws. Although maybe he just hangs on for the opportunities.
There was a pretty good recap as the first episode started. Also Entertainment Weekly has recaps of everything, for free if you can tolerate the ads.
A complicated relationship for sure. I am sure it started as love, and she’s willing to forsake others now. He can be such a loose cannon.
I love the First Gentleman in this series.
We started The Diolomat but watched the finale from the last season before we watched the current one. I highly suggest you do that. I had forgotten so much.
(skipping over the Diplomat posts until I get a chance to watch)
Is anyone watching Youth on HBO Max? Not overly relatable to me, but still lots of funny. Definitely need closed caption.
We liked “Catastrophe” better, but this is OK.
This is not a binge since there have only been two episodes so far, but I started watching Cupertino on paramount. It is the new Robert King and Michelle King show and it has a Good Wife/Good Fight vibe. It is a little more light-hearted than the Good Wife, but not as silly as Elsbeth (which I don’t enjoy despite liking her character very much on the other two shows). It also has the actor who played the priest on Evil. All in all, I think it is well done so far and it might even be enough to convince me to watch it as a weekly show when I generally prefer shows where I can binge a whole season at my leisure.
We decided to rewatch the last episode of Season 3 of The Diplomat… then continued on with first episode of Season 4. Definitely an interesting show that captures both of us.
I did the same re Diplomat. Also re watched last episode of The Gilded Age as season 4 drops Nov 1.
I do think I remember The Guilded Age, must have watched it during the early evening. WW will see.
To whet your appetite, here’s the trailer for season 4.
And to be clear, like previous seasons, and as is typical for HBO, it’s a weekly drop - not a full drop.
Last week I watched season 1 of Gold on PBS.
AI description:
- The Heist: On November 26, 1983, six armed men broke into the Brink’s-Mat security depot near London’s Heathrow Airport. They expected to find cash, but instead stumbled upon 7,000 bars of gold bullion and diamonds worth £26 million.
- Season 1: Focuses on the immediate aftermath, Detective Chief Inspector (DCI) Brian Boyce [Hugh Bonneville of Downton Abbey] forming a special police task force, and the vast network of criminals, gold dealers, and white-collar money launderers turning the stolen bullion into clean money.
Season 2 starts tomorrow. All episodes available on PBS Passport.
I am definitely enjoying this season of The Diplomat.
If there are any fans of the Canadian series Murdoch Mysteries out there, this week’s episode was very disappointing-----a 1000% exact rip-off of the plot of Da Vinci Code, very very lazy writing.
Had a poorly disguised new name for Priory of Scion, Opus Dei, murdered protectors of the ‘descendant’, etc. Horrible episode.
OK, this probably belongs in the I’m old thread, but here goes …
Dh and I decided to watch The Diplomat Season 4. Based on the recommendations here, we started with the recap and figured we could go back to episode 8 of season 3 if we felt like we needed it. Well, yeah, we decided to watch episode 8 again.
So we are watching and about halfway through we are remarking how we remember so little of it, how we need to quit watching so late at night, etc. There was a scene with Todd in bed, and I’m like that looks familiar. Finally, something happens, and I stop the show. When I was reading the link someone posted above there was a Season 4 spoiler, and I realized that I had just seen it. Yep, we were watching episode 8 of season 4! The good news is when we get back there the last 10 minutes will be new. ARGH.
Anyway, we got through four episodes. We just love this show.
