Biology of aging?

Anyone here looking to work on the biology of aging? What schools are you considering attending? If you made a choice, what factors led to your decision?

I’m trying to decide between Harvard BBS, Stanford Genetics, UCSF Neuroscience, UTHSCSA IMGP Biology of Aging Track, and University of Washington-Seattle Pathology and am having a very difficult time since each program does amazing aging research.

Thanks!

While I’m not looking to work on the biology of aging, I can share how I chose which program to attend. Hopefully this will be at least somewhat useful:

Cynthis Kenyon at UCSF is probably the most well known person in aging field.
Harvard has Selkoe DJ and Bruce Yankner.

Salk also has Andrew Dillin, who is doing very exciting work in that field, but you would need to go to UCSD for that.

Thanks but I have already considered all the general criteria. I’m looking more specifically for details from those who have gone into these programs and/or want to work in the biology of aging.

Thanks shnjb. I’m definitely considering those people. Unfortunately, I didn’t apply to UCSD :-(

I don’t know which program would have the most # of PI’s doing aging although I would guess Harvard.

For quantity of people I’m interested in Harvard and UTHSCSA have the most. I guess the real problem is that there are so many amazing researchers but they’re all spread out! I want to go everywhere…
