Biomedical Engineering - internship opportunities?

<p>“We have placed 115 student interns in specially-created internships in 51 companies since the program began in 2000.”</p>

<p>Is this true? 115 students in ten years…
How many students are in BME? If I’m at least 80th percentile and want internship, will I get one? What about at other schools?</p>

<p>I’m an international and I look forward to living in the US after finishing my education. Doing well in internship is the only practical way to accomplish this.</p>

<p>Many students find internships on their own (ie. without UVA’s specific help).</p>

<p>That’s just one program run by the BME department. They sponsor trips to careers fairs in different areas, and I believe that have a BME-specific career fair in the Fall for companies looking to recruit majors. The majority of BME students will get internships by applying directly to companies.</p>
