Black Friday 2019 Search for Sales on specific items

@abasket “But I am still curious to hear any good deals anyone found.”

A friend of mine scored a gorgeous leather couch at West Elm for 50% less!

I made an online order at Kohls and got several smaller items at great prices including Two shirts for son in law.

Ordered several Christmas gifts on Amazon that were not on sale but helped me almost finish my immediate family list.

I have never been this far done with Christmas shopping before December 1. Very peaceful feeling. This is first year we did not step foot in stores on BF, and I am happy.

The electric blanket I still want is a last minute idea, and we are not stressing about getting it bought this weekend.

I admit I bought several items from Athleta today (20% off), but that was online. That’s my own Christmas gift. Bought a few stocking stuffers, too but that was also on line.

I’ve been looking at the eyeshadow palette for a year, but have never spent on such an expensive one, it’s 50% off, so I ordered.

that’s the whole point - to convince you to buy NOW.

I think the whole thing has been extended. There were some great deals before Thanksgiving and the past two years I have found some great last minute deals the week before Christmas.

I am glad we bought the Apple watch this morning. It is already now out of stock.

SIL is planning to buy a new ipad. I got another pair of ASICS running shoes for DH. He goes through them pretty quickly and today’s price was 30% off on the ASICS site and 2% back through mrrebates. We can typically find the shoes on sale somewhere (bought some for a similar price on another site not long ago) but DH said to go ahead. And he has a birthday coming up.

Thanks @dragonmom! It’s so hard to know how pants will fit—I generally chicken out and don’t buy them online but the ones you listed seem popular.

@conmama- I love the Naked palettes. 50% off is a great deal. They last a long time.

I am thinking of buying the Instant Pot Instant™ Vortex™ Plus 10-Quart 7-In-1 Air Fryer Oven for $69.99 from Macy’s on Cyber Monday. https://www.macys.com/shop/product/instant-vortex-plus-10-quart-7-in-1-air-fryer-oven?ID=10188466&cm_mmc=wishabi--ecircular--own-_-10188466

I purchased the Cheesecake Factory gift cards today since they were offering two vouchers for a slice of cheesecake with each $25 g/c purchase.

I am looking for a water flosser.

@dragonmom, my S has resolved the issue by buying 3 pairs in assorted styles so I can try them and return what doesn’t fit properly.

I’m thrilled that there are 4 zippered pockets and 2 back pockets. I hope they fit me!

This is the same price as at Macy’s. I bought this for one daughter about 5 years ago and she loved it and the other daughter was mad she didn’t get one. The daughter who did get it used it for years, till it was gone. I think I’ll get them each one this year. I’m pretty sure I paid $50 five years ago so this is a good deal. Plus with Macy’s I’ll get Rakatun (or whatever it’s called)

I am looking for a water flosser.

They had several at Kohl’s. My mother is looking for a waterpik but her dentist told her the water flossers just spray water all over the bathroom so she’s going to stick with what she knows, the pik.

My big Black Friday shopping was to the thrift store where they had their weekly half price sale (Saturdays) a day early. I had seen some fleece fabric there last week for full price but thought I’d get it if it went to half price. Today got about 20 yards of fleece for about $19. I had more fleece that I could ever need, but now I have twice as much as I could ever need.

I have barely bought a thing yet! But one of my girls did have underwear on her list and even though she doesn’t shop there otherwise loves the Aerie underwear. Today they are 10 for $30 - can’t beat that deal!

@powercropper, regarding electric blankets…sadly, we’ve never had one work for too long so we’ve had a few over the years and I can’t recommend a specific one. But one feature that I really value is where changing the setting doesn’t make noise. Often I’ll wake in the night and want to change it and the current one we have (and others in the past) make a loud clicking noise. If you have a partner, you risk waking them. No idea who in the world didn’t think about that…we did have one once that was silent. Might have been a sunbeam but not sure and, of course, no idea which model it was. Still, I LOVE having an electric blanket and hate the cold sheets I encounter when we travel. Good luck finding a good one.

And my best black Friday purchase today was a macbook air for myself and for a D at $650 from Amazon. Our needs are low (web surfing, email, etc.) so their basic model works for us. And I saw that MS office is 33% off for the next week so I’ll be ordering that as well.

I’m hoping that speck phone cases agree that Black Friday pricing should also be available on Cyber Monday because I’m in need and was too late for their 40% off sale today.

@conmama and @twoinanddone — thanks. Just bought the eye shadow palette for D from Macy’s with Rakuten’s 10% rebate. She really doesn’t use much makeup but enjoys have ng sone around so I thought it would be fun for her.

Macy’s originally wanted to charge me an extra $10 to ship to HI. I called and complained and they waived it. I think D willbe very surprised!

I really want to take us on a nice trip of Europe this spring, so that will be our big gift—maybe I will get us travel-related little gifts for Christmas.

This year I didn’t order much at all for Black Friday. I did order several things from Ulta.
I am considering buying one son some Sennheiser wireless ear buds or some wireless over the ear noise canceling headphones. If anyone sees any truly great deals, feel free to let me know.

Prior to black Friday, I made a list of ~12 items that I might consider buying. Unfortunately few of those items had substantially discounts below what I’d pay other times of year. Some of the items were on sale, but the sale prices were often more expensive that other non-sale comparable items at Amazon or similar. Others had discounts, but not on the specific type of model I was looking for. This was typical among tech products. The few items I did get were:

A vacuum at Walmart (online), which was discounted 61% and
was ~30-50% less than comparable items at Amazon.

A reading light at 50% discount from comparable items at Amazon

An audio cable at 30% discount from comparable items at Amazon

Oven gloves at 20% discount from comparable items at Amazon

Spotify free for 3 months (my 3rd free 3 months in past year)

All movie pay channels free this weekend, which I used to download ~65 movies to DVR

^^OMG on the movies!
