Blair Hornstine: What's the latest?

What has Blair Hornstine done since the lawsuit? Several people on discussion boards suggested that she attend Rutgers or a local community college. One person suggested that she go to Europe. I think this makes much more sense. People in Europe haven’t heard much about the story.

I don’t think Blair even needs to leave the USA. I think only those in the Northeast and California have been exposed to the story.

I suggested on review.com that Blair run off to North Dakota. The backroads of Mississippi would also be a good place for her. People in Dixie, the Great Plains, the Rocky Mountain States, and Alaska haven’t been following the story. So Blair could just get a fresh start in places where nobody knows anyone who attended an Ivy-type college.

That’s right. Only people in California and New York read newspapers. No one in Mississippi has even heard of The New Yahk Times!

Or this board where she has been discussed. Right.

I think the whole thing is over now. Water under the bridge, time to move on. No one boils in oil for teenage mistakes- they become wiser and stronger. She is probably doing very well in some very fine college somewhere where their policy allows for stupid teenage errors perhaps motivied by her parents pressures. And she can look back on her parents within a year or two and speak fondly and gently to them remembering all they tried to do for her, then call her boyfriend and run out with her friends, see a movie, and move on.When I see the things I see in the newspaper- pornography, rapes, abortions, baby murders, and worse- what Blair Hornstein did or tried to accomplish seems like small stuff. She learned, she will be an asset somewhere for it all.

Backhandgrip - what a nice image! I hope it’s true.

BHG: You seem to have a big generous heart.

Simba;Plagiarism is wrong, but what is more unethical?- killing an unborn baby or giving yourself credit for something someone else wrote?
Everyone makes mistakes, get bad evaluations, hurt people feelings and does a crime one time or another in their life.(shoplifting, taxes)We have to be careful how we judge others. And we have to learn how to cope with life.

I mean, I have never committed a crime. But it’s so common.

We really shouldn’t get the abortion debate going here.

People obviously have very passionate views about limitations on abortions, pornography, etc., but there’s no use bringing it all up on a College Message board when we’ll never all agree.

Oh, I didn’t mean to make it sound like a debate. The point just being, that if your boss hired her, gave her a chance and saw the good points she had to offer a job, you would have to accept her. It would be no difference that she had made a few mistakes.Life goes on.
I can see I’m sounding boring so I’ll move on!

Wow! Blair Hornstine and abortion and no one picked up the gauntlet!

idler, I’m glad that no one has chosen to take up the gauntlet. It was a ridiculous comparison and one which is better left ignored.

It’s nice to imagine that Blair will learn from her mistakes and be able to move on and serve society - but I think that’s going to be very difficult. For one, at any college in the U.S., someone will surely find out her story and she’ll be “that girl who plagerized and got kicked out of Harvard.” For another, I doubt her father will ever let it go. I don’t see an easy out for her. Michael Phelps, on the other hand, handled his situation with such grace, I think it will be forgotten very soon.

As long as Michael Phelps did not defecate into a sink (see other thread).

alwaysamom: my point exactly, just a favorable comment on the maturity of our posters.

So, why no discussions about the baby killers who dumped their newborn and whatever happened to them?
Maybe Blair will write a book, ‘How not to raise your child.’

I mean, there are so many dark secrets out there. Worse things everywhere. No point mean mouthing some teenage kid . She will do just fine for herself. She will get her breaks in life. One door closes another opens.
