<p>Kansas is usually pretty dry in the winter. Average snowfalls are slightly less than 15" per year in Wichita, and 18-20" per year in Hays (western KS) and Kansas City (eastern KS).
Huge variations are possible–less than 4" last winter in KC, and close to 40" the year before.</p>
<p>I firmly believe that it should be a law that if the school district in which you reside calls a snow day, you do not have to go to work. “Snow day” are two of the best words in the english language.</p>
