Bombing hits BostonMarathon

nmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Looks scary. There are injuries. Prayers for all…

Local news is trying to get a handle on what has happened. There are many injured (10?) some gravely … apparently the bombs(?) were near the finish line at a Marathon Sports store.

There have been two explosions the immediate concern is if there might be other bombs somewhere else on the course … and at this time there are tens of thousands of people in Boston for the marathon now.

Oh my God. I hope all our CC Boston friends are safe.

another source … [Explosions reported near Boston Marathon finish line | Metro News - WCVB Home](http://www.wcvb.com/news/local/metro/Explosions-reported-near-Boston-Marathon-finish-line/-/11971628/19757044/-/ktnc1wz/-/index.html?hpt=hp_t1)

The local news just showed a new clip of the explosions which were loud and pretty big. The second thing that stood out in the video is the number of people who immediately ran TOWARDS the explosions to help … police, race volunteers, etc.

Please let this be an accident and not by design. Severe injuries reported for some police, bystanders and maybe runners. Today is the Patriots Day Holiday in Massachusetts, so many young people would have been among the spectators and volunteers. Praying that the origin of this event was an accident. Thinking of my many friends in Boston right now.

That’s tragic! Who would do such a thing!

My boss’ son and his family live and work in downtown Boston. I alerted her about this and she was able to get ahold of daughter in law who works on the other side of the city.

It’s a terrifying world we live in.

prayers for all those in Boston :(

It is still unclear that this was purposeful and not accidental (ie a series of pipe explosions). I hope it was accidental.

Thoughts go out to all of boston.

I came back from watching the Marathon. No one, absolutely no one knew about this happening in Back Bay. I live between mile 23 and 24 in Coolidge Corner Brookline. It was the same very loud continuous party as always.

Looking at TV now, I gather people aren’t being allowed to get within about a block of the finish line. I’m not sure where they’re stopping runners.

It looks from the helicopter shot that a bomb or two went off opposite the grandstands at Exeter Street, sort of in front the reviled “darth vader” building. You can see the smudges on the sidewalk.

So 2:50PM is a long time after the start. The elite male runners started at 10AM and the last wave of official runners started at 10:40. So a little over 4 hours, which means sort of in the middle of the vast pack of finishers.

People are saying they saw explosions on the sidewalk itself, not in a building. One guy says he thought it came from a manhole.

You can see them checking manholes now.

Waiting to hear from a young college friend who was running it for the first time today. I believe she had already finished.

My D is working in Boston this week. She said she is 3 blocks away from the area. Scary stuff.

Live camera at the finish line. It looks like they cordoned off the area and maybe moved the finish line to somewhere else?

How horrific. Prayers for all affected by this.

Who would do such a thing?

Oh so sad.

On the news just now they have an image which looks like it was captured with a cell phone of a building with smoke and fire coming out from the windows. It looks like an explosion from the building and not from a man hole. Though they did say there was a second explosion. Glad we didn’t make it down today for the race.

Vine; is a video without blood or gore, showing the explosion as it happened.

Friend texted she is fine.

Glad to see that it seems there were no deaths.

This is awful. It is a sad commentary on how many evil people are sharing the planet with us. Hopefully we will find this is an “accident,” but I don’t hold out a whole lot of optimism about that.

:(

So, so sad! My heart goes out to the people of Boston and the runners.

OMG. If I were running, I would probably be somewhere near that area…

ABC news live feed mentioned 2 casualties… OMG
