Another explosion in the same basic area. You can hear the police yelling at the reporters to clear the area. They’re making the press move another block away. It’s weird watching the reporter walk down the street on camera. She says the police yelled at them there might be another explosion and then one happened a few seconds after. So they must have found something. Don’t know if they detonated something or not.

CBS reporting live that people in office buildings and restaurants along the route (Boyleston Street) have been told to remain indoors while a bomb search gets underway. Checking wastebaskets and manhole covers.

Third bomb was found and detonated by the authority.

ABC says that might have been a police-controlled explosion in the cordoned off area.

Oh just great! According to CBS News VP Joe Biden just released a statement saying that it was a bomb. Is he sure? Not a Biden critic but I hope he hasn’t gotten ahead of this inaccurately.

Horrible. Apparently several people lost legs.

One of my closest Boston-based friends lives just a 10-15 minute walk from the finish line. Will be checking in with him this evening to see how he and his neighborhood is doing.

Agree with those who are praying for Boston CCers.

This is just making me sick, absolutely sick!

Oh, no, two dead and 22 injured.

Tragic.

Not speaking for Biden but two separate explosions and a third bomb is reported been found and detonated. It does not look like an accident from utility explosion to me.

2 killed, 22 injured…

The bombs went off when the race was mostly over. Just think how much worse this would have been had they gone off at 10 a.m.

Local news is interviewing volunteers who were working on the medical tent when the bombs went off. From the interviews … there are multiple deaths … at least one women lost her leg … lots and lots of people injured including kids

As a spouse of a runner, it just makes my stomach turn…

Fox News just reported 3 fatalities - dozens of injuries including at least 10 people who have lost limbs. So tragic.

I’m in total shock.

I’m just sick.

10 am would probably have been a lot less people at the finish line. Maybe around noon when the winners were coming might have been the worst time. The actual time is probably not far from peak time for normal lower tiered runners finishing.

This just made my blood run cold.

They need to get everyone off the route. There could be more.

Sick, sick, sick.

They stopped runners from continuing past the site of the blasts almost immediately … I have not heard if they just rerouted runners around the immediate area or tried to stop all runners anywhere on the course from continuing at all.
